She learned Emma had been sleeping with Simon—for how long? She didn’t know—and now they were married.

Every second week Olivia had to hand over her daughter to them, the people who had drugged her, and let them play happy families. She didn’t trust them for a single minute. She was constantly on alert, not doing anything that could jeopardize her situation.

She didn’t date.

She didn’t go out and aside from the odd wine at home or when she was at a work event, she hardly drank.

Work—home—mom life.

That was it.

A few months after getting Sammy back, she had started working at Dufort Hotels.

Of course, she had noticed Fletcher Dufort was an extremely good-looking man.

Okay, fine, he was hot.

Seriously hot.

But he was also smart and funny, and she valued this opportunity. A year into the job, she began to notice how close they had gotten. She was, for all intents and purposes, his unspoken second-in-charge, and the go-to person for marketing and PR queries. It wasn’t unusual for that to happen, by the nature of her job, but there was something more.

Olivia began to notice the way he would look at her when he thought she wasn’t looking.

Then, when shewaslooking.

And she was doing the same to him.

The tension had slowly built and, after two years, it was becoming impossible to ignore. But he was her manager. Fletcher was the director of marketing and PR. The son of the founder of Dufort Hotels and a majority shareholder.

Even if it wasn’t for her situation with Simon, neither of them could act on their attraction to one another. Dufort Hotels had an anti-fraternization policy which forbade employees having sexual relations with one another.

With one of the Dufort brothers?

No.

With playboy Fletcher Dufort?

Oh, hell, no.

As their PR manager, she knew exactly the type of media attention the Duforts’ love lives attracted.

Especially Fletcher’s.

And especially now that Daniel was engaged and officially off the market. Fletcher and his brother Hunter, the third Dufort brother, had both recently become equal majority shareholders with Daniel, making them extremely desirable to women.

As if their masculine good looks and tall muscular bodies weren’t enough.

Media interest in who Fletcher was dating was insatiable and, because he never dated anyone for long—cough, one night, cough—he had earned the nickname “Playboy of Manhattan”.

Fletcher didn’t love the attention but because he had a more playful personality than Daniel, who hated the media, and his job involved dealing with them, he would smile and wink at the cameras.

Hunter kept his personal life very private and attended company events only when necessary. She had a little insight as to why. The rumors were, his personal life ran a little darker than standard fare.

So, Fletcher Dufort was off limits for Olivia, and she had her own baggage and reasons to keep her eyes off her extremely charming and sexy boss.

Easier said than done, though.

When he stepped into a room in one of his custom-made tailored suits and gave her a wink, her knees went weak, and... no, that was a lie.
