CHAPTER NINETEEN

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

Olivia’s heels clunked on the tiles as she walked fast to Fletcher’s office.

Fuck!

When she arrived, she found Daniel standing in there, arms crossed, one hand on his jaw, chatting to Fletcher.

“Olivia,” Fletcher said, looking up at her, far too calm, given the situation. Then again, he didn’t yet know what had happened.

She tried to calm herself, but her heart was thumping.

“Hey,” she said, forcing a fake smile. “I can come back...”

Please don’t ask me to come back.

Daniel raised a brow. “Anything I need to know?”

“What?” she asked, her own brows rising in response. “Oh, no. No media emergency. I was just running late. I’ll come back.”

She turned to leave, but Fletcher called her back.

Daniel glanced between them for a long moment, and the entire room seemed to freeze as her heart thumped away.

Thump, thump, thump.

“I think we proceed with Los Angeles unless you think Singapore would be the right choice. You have the final vote on this,” Fletcher said, standing.

“I’ll speak to Hunter and get his thoughts, then let you know.” Daniel cast her another strained look.

She smiled casually, holding her folder against her chest.

“I believe Harper is going to contact you this week. Thank you for your kindness to her,” Daniel said to her, walking to the door.

She was momentarily thrown.

“Don’t be silly. Harper is amazing. I’m happy to help and support her in any way I can,” Olivia replied.

He smiled and left them to it.

Her eyes flew to Fletcher’s.

“What’s happened?” he asked, his voice dark.

He knew.

––––––––

FLETCHER WALKED TOthe door and closed it.
