“No,” he admitted, “but it ended well. They’re also delighted that I have a lady friend and want to meet her.”
Her hand flew to her chest. “No way.”
“Yes.” He grinned. “Tomorrow evening, I’m taking the whole family out to dinner to meet my lovely girlfriend.”
“No, please. I can’t—”
“Yes, sweetheart. You can.” He pulled her into his arms. “It’s time I announce to the whole world that I love you. I’m counting on you to dazzle them as you have me.”
Panic filled her gorgeous eyes. “Oh my God! They’ll hate me. I’m their former babysitter.”
