"Coming," I called out. I shared a smile with Danec. We had both done our share of coming already, but this time involved food. I was okay with that.

I wrapped one towel around Danec's hips and pulled the one off my hair to pull around myself.

Danec opened the door and stepped outside. I followed a moment later.

Slek, who stood in the bedroom, a sandwich halfway to his mouth, gave Danec a look of envy, but he was clearly impressed. "There you two are. I see you missed me." He grinned.

I rolled my eyes and found some clean clothes to pull on. I chose a big t-shirt and some soft shorts.

Danec only grabbed some track pants.

"So what did the IF want?" I stepped into the bedroom and started to work my hair dry.

"They wanted to see how I rigged the cannon to the pod, and asked what I knew about Infinity. They think..." Slek paused for effect, "I was pushed."

"I keep telling you that's what happened," I said, only half joking.

Slek shrugged. "The problem is, there are more rogues out there. More Iri too. They aren't going to stop trying to kill each other, and other people are going to get caught in the middle."

I walked to the tray of food on the table and snagged a sandwich and a cup of water.

"There's more," Slek said. "IF is sending me to Agus to teach other engineers my cannon trick."

I stopped, mid-chew. "You're coming to Agus too?" I swallowed hastily and grinned.

He grinned too. "Yes, we're all going. And with any luck, coming."

I laughed.

Danec blushed, but managed a laugh as well. "That's great, we can take care of each other."

"Yes, us and Brinley," I said tired but happy. "We make a good team."

Slek raised his cup at me. "A very good team.

Danec added his cup to the toast. "A great team."

I laughed and threw a piece of sandwich at him.

He caught it and when I thought he might eat it, he placed it into my mouth instead.

I smiled around it while I chewed.

"An awesome team," Danec said softly. "Will that make it harder to choose?"

I grimaced. That might make it impossible to choose, but I had a feeling I was going to have a good time, in the meantime. I eyed Slek's groin speculatively. I was satisfied for now, but I was curious how he would feel. Some ridiculous part of me was still curious how J'avet would feel. It was probably professional curiosity. I was supposed to learn about alien physiology after all. Maybe I could write a book. Or I could focus on getting to know the two incredible guys right in front of me.

The future was going to be interesting.
