I shake my head again, opening my mouth to answer, but snap it shut again.

“Are you in pain or something?” Shaun asks as Garrett drops his hands from my face and frowns as I take a step back.

I shake my head, but then nod, but then shake it again and squeeze my eyes tight.

“What did you do to her?” Marcus hisses.

“He looked like he was going to kiss her,” Simon adds unhelpfully. “I didn’t realise Bossi had extended his sharing invitation to you too, Cole.”

“Shut up, dickhead! Can’t you see our girl is in pain?” Shaun hisses, and that’s when I notice a new bruise on the side of his face.

“What happened to your face?”

Shaun snaps his attention back to me, and when he realises I’m talking to him, his fingers reach up and touch the bruise.

“Bossi fell into Grady’s fist again.” Simon offers, earning himself glares from the other three guys.

“You’re really starting to piss me off.” Garrett hisses at Simon, who just shrugs, not really caring.

I glance between Marcus and Shaun. “You hit him again?” I ask Marcus, and he nods.

“The arsehole deserved it.” Marcus doesn’t sound the least bit sorry.

“Why?” I frown, and he shoots an angry glare at Shaun.

“He told us what happened last night at that fucking sex club thing you go to. He got reacquainted with my fist because he didn’t protect you!”

“What!” I dart my panicked eyes to Shaun. “You told them? How could you do that?”

“Hey.” He frowns, stepping forward. “They needed to know Kitten. They didn’t understand why I was so frantic to find you. They needed to know what those sick fuckers did to you last night, and they needed to know that it was you in the video tonight.”

I can’t breathe. My lungs have officially failed me. I’m going to fucking die!

I fall to my knees and try to gasp for air, but it won’t come. I can’t hear anything but the rush of blood, and as I blink, my vision blurs and darkens.

I’m going to die!

Isn’t that what you wanted earlier, Rhys? To leave this shitty world?

I can feel my body being moved, but I can’t make any sense of anything. Then I feel something on my neck. Then ear. Then arm. Then lips. Like a freight train slamming into a snowbank, my lungs kick in, and I gasp, sucking in the much-needed oxygen.

“That’s it, Kitten. Just breathe.” Shaun’s voice sounds distant. Like he’s talking to me through a thick pane of glass.

“You’re ok, Rhee. You’ll be ok.” Marcus’ voice registers next.

“Come back to me, beautiful.” Garrett’s voice is next to penetrate my barrier, sounding louder than the others.

“Simon says, breathe.”

A giggle bubbles up my throat as I hear Simon’s words, and my vision begins to clear, the rustic surrounds of the man-cave coming back into focus, and with it, four of the guys that have stolen my heart.

“Dude! Did you just play Simon Says while our girl was having a panic attack?” Shaun asks, and Simon nods proudly.

A giggle bursts free again, and I slap my hand over my mouth as I peer up at the guys who are on their knees on the dirty concrete floor with me.

“You are one weird motherfucker.” Garrett shakes his head at Simon.

“Maybe, but our girl likes my kind of weird. Don’t you, Cherry?”
