I crane my head back, meeting his icy-blues. “You should reconsider. Being associated with me and my depravity isn’t socially strategic.”

“We don’t care about anyone else, Kitten. We only care about you.” Shaun wraps his arms around my waist from behind, and I feel like collapsing and getting lost in him. In all of them. He presses his warm lips to my cheek, and I briefly let my eyes flutter shut, revelling in his touch and missing the quiet moments we don’t seem to be getting much of lately. Unfortunately, now when I close my eyes, all I see is Tyler’s face when I had to walk away from him earlier this morning, and the centre of my chest aches.

With a frown, I pry my lids back open. “Did you tell them about last night?” I whisper, even though I know they can all hear me.

“Yeah. I told them that Master Hill sent your olds a video of you and Skipper, and they found out who Skipper is and went around to his house last night when we were there.”

So Shaun didn’t reveal Tyler’s identity? That’s good. So far, it seems that it’s only my parents who know. The fewer people who know, the better.

“Cherry, I’m sorry about that happening. I know how much you care for that guy. Did your parents call the cops?” Simon’s hazel eyes are filled with concern as he tucks his blonde hair behind his ear. It’s gotten really long. I hope he doesn’t cut it. I like the look.

“No. For now, they have agreed to keep it quiet as long as he hasn’t hurt me. They want me to…” I swallow a couple of times, trying to dislodge the lump in my throat, “They want me to stay away from him until I graduate.”

“But you’re eighteen in, like, five months, aren’t you? Why can’t you see him then?” Marcus is too perceptive.

“Cynthia is worried about how it will look for the principal of a catholic school to have a daughter at the school who is dating a man.”

Marcus nods, but still frowns a little, and I’m not sure if I’ve convinced him. It doesn’t matter, though, because the clacking of heels across the stadium floor tells me that Cin is on her way over to us.

“Time to go, Rhys.” She calls, and I roll my eyes, making my guys grin.

“She has my phone. I get the feeling she’s not going to give it back. I’ll try to message you guys from my laptop later.”

Shaun squeezes me from behind, his hand coming up to grip my chin, tilting my head around so he can kiss me from the side. I want to turn in his arms and keep kissing him, but even with Cynthia still a good distance away, I can hear her huff.

Breaking the kiss, Shaun locks his steel-grey eyes with mine. “Don’t worry about Eric Carter and the other fuckwits. We will sort those fuckers out for you, Kitten.”

I grin, giving him a slight nod. There’s nothing they can do now that the secret is out, but if they want to make heads roll, I’m not going to stop them.

Marcus steps up to me as Shaun moves away, cupping my face with both of his hands. “Rhee, I’m sorry there are so many arseholes in this place. You are better than all of them combined. Don’t forget how much I love you. How muchwelove you.”

I smile, losing myself in Marcus’ brown gaze before he leans in for his own kiss. Even though his body is tense, radiating with anger, his touch is gentle and loving. When he pulls away, I can tell he’d prefer to throw me over his shoulder and run off with me, but he steps back, letting Simon push in to claim my lips.

I can’t hold back the giggle at his enthusiasm. Sy is a ball of energy at the best of times, and right now is no different. He kisses me thoroughly, his fingers fisting in my ponytail before he pulls back to stare into my eyes. “I’ll video call you later. We can play Simon Says or something.”

I giggle and nod, earning myself another deep kiss from Simon before he reluctantly lets me go.

“Rhys George, it’s time to go now!” My mum bellows across the hall, and I turn to shoot her a fucking dagger. Bitch better back off when a girl is saying goodbye to her harem!

“Quick, Baby Girl. Give me those lips before your mum comes over here and rips our heads off.”

I turn back, grinning up at Garrett. “She can try, but I’ll go ham on her arse.”

He chuckles, gripping the lapels of my blazer and tugging me to his chest. “I’m not gonna lie. I’d like to see you go ham on someone. Such a firecracker.”

“You gonna tell me what happened to your eye?” I ask, and his smile drops. He remains silent for a few moments, like he’s trying to figure out if he should lie to me or not, but then he chooses the truth.

“My old man got home early this morning. Apparently, he was let out of prison yesterday, and he took the early train back here.” Garrett shrugs, “The black eye was a reminder to me that he hasn’t forgotten that I was the one who got him thrown in prison in the first place.”

“Shit Gar. Are your mum and sisters, ok?”

He nods, “Yeah. He won’t touch them. Not for a while, anyway. I have a bit of time up my sleeve to figure out a way to get rid of him again.”

That is so fucked. Why do they let people like Garrett’s dad out of prison in the first place? I hate that Garrett has to worry about my bullshit on top of his family stuff. Hell, all the guys have worries, except for maybe Marcus. Shaun’s mum is sick and getting worse, plus his dad is on his case about dropping out of school to work on their farm. Simon’s parents are getting divorced, and both are moving away, wanting him to go with them. Even after they have ignored him most of his life, they expect him to give up his life to move somewhere else just for them to ignore him again. My guys deserve better. So much better.

“Be careful, ok? I can’t bear the thought of you getting hurt, Gar.”

He tugs me closer, lowering his head as I tip mine back to match his move.
