“What will you gain by doing this, Terence? We would never expose you and the Feast nights, so why would you expose us and put the Feast at risk?”

“Oh, I won’t risk using the footage of the two of you inside my house. That’s just for my viewing pleasure. The barn session you two had is so much better for others to watch. No masks. No makeup. No one will know it took place on my property.”

“What?” I whimper as his words sink in. He filmed us in the barn?

“Oh, how sweet. Your little Kitten ran straight to you. Does she visit you often in your home? Do you have private teacher-student study sessions, Tyler? Do you teach her well?”

“Fuck you, you motherfucking cunt! I’m going to fucking kill you for this!”

I flinch in Shaun’s arms at the sheer violence in Tyler’s tone, and I peer up from Shaun’s chest to glance at Ty. His face is bright red. He actually looks like he could kill someone right now.

“As for you, Kitten. You’ll do well to learn how to do as you’re told. Breaking rules, and deals, has consequences. Something I hear you’ve been learning a lot about lately. I’ve been lucky enough to watch that video footage of you and your old foster dad. It’s a great movie. Please thank whoever sent it to me.”

My face pales as his words sink in. He’s seen the video of me when I was little? With Brian?

“If you go through with this, Terence, you’d better be prepared to fight!”

Master Hill chuckles. “Go through with it? Oh, Skipper, it’s already done.” He ends the call, leaving Tyler with red-faced fury, his breathing sharp and short as he tries to calm himself down.

A sob leaps from my throat a second before a loud bang fills the room. I freeze in Shaun’s arms, my eyes wide as I watch Tyler’s head dart towards the passage that leads to his front door.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

There’s strength and anger behind that beating fist, the door rattling with each pounding like it’s going to fly from its hinges.

“Don’t answer it!” I cry as Tyler stomps towards the passage, his fierce eyes flicking to Shaun as he points a stern finger.

“Keep her here.”

I feel Shaun nod, and when I try to move from his embrace, his arms tighten around me.

“Let me go, Cass.”

“No, Kitten. You heard Ty.”

I shove him as more banging sounds, getting free in time to round the corner of the passage.

Tyler swings the door wide, and I hear the venomous bellow of a man’s voice.

“You fucking paedophile! I’m gonna kill you!”

Then a fist flies through the doorway, colliding with Tyler’s face.

Chapter Two

Rhys

Everything happens so quickly that I hardly have time to process it. Fists fly. Blood splatters. Screams fill the air. I try to get to Ty to protect him from the hulking silhouette in the doorway, but Shaun drags me backwards.

“NO!” I scream, kicking and flailing, trying to break free of Shaun’s firm grip.

The silhouette figure looks up then. I can’t see his face in the dark shadow of the passage, but I can tell he’s looking at me right before he looks back down at Ty, who is trying to stand up.

“I’ll fucking kill you for laying your hands on my daughter!”

The voice. That voice. I recognise it now as he stalks Tyler on the floor, who isn’t fighting back, just trying to get away. It’s Will. My dad.

“No! Dad! Stop!” I scream, but he ignores me, leaning down to lift Tyler by the scruff of his neck and starts slamming his fist into his face. “Please stop, Dad! Please!”
