“Bitch, what?” London and Taylor simultaneously screeched.

London reached across the table and grabbed hold of Samiah’s hand, tilting it from side to side so that she could look at the ring from all angles. It was stunning. A radiant cut in a platinum setting.

“Way to bring the fire, Dimples,” London said.

Daniel Collins’s adorable dimples deepened even more. “I took a risk buying it on my own, but I think I did okay, huh?” He looked to Samiah.

“You did an excellent job,” she said, pressing a kiss to the tip of his nose.

Even though London was no longer opposed to getting lovey-dovey with one’s significant other in public, these two still made her roll her eyes.

“Congratulations, you two!” Taylor crowed. “You’re like my favorite engaged couple now.” She looked over at Jamar and held up a finger. “I’m not ready yet, so don’t go getting any ideas.”

Jamar held up both hands. “I wasn’t. But eventually, right?”

She gave him a kiss. “Maybe one day, Twenty-Three.” She returned her attention to the table at large and said, “Okay, so my news will seem like shit compared to Samiah’s, but I’m sharing it anyway,” Taylor said.

“Share away, girl,” London encouraged.

“I passed all my classes,” Taylor said. “All Bs! Because I’m a bad bitch, baby!”

“Gimme some, genius!” London reached over and gave her a high five.

“That’s fab, Taylor!” Samiah said.

“And,” Taylor continued. “I just signed a lease on a studio in Georgetown. Taylor’d Conditioning officially has its own gym!”

“Congratulations, girl! That’s amazing,” London said. “I am so freaking happy for both of you. My only news is that I’m out of the danger range when it comes to my blood pressure, but you two are about to send it skyrocketing with all this excitement.”

“You’re going to be just fine, both with your blood pressure and this new fellowship,” Taylor said. “Face it, ladies. We are hot shit.”

“The hottest shit,” London concurred. She looked at the men at the table. “You three are the luckiest men in Austin.”

Daniel, Jamar, and Drew all looked at each other. “We know,” they answered in unison.

“Well, ladies.” Samiah held her drink in the air. “Here’s to good health, fabulous friendship, and living our best lives.”

London and Taylor clinked their glasses to hers.

“Cheers to that!”
