Dutch shrugged. “Take it or leave it.”

“No way! Wyatt and I have plans. I’m clocking out in, like, two minutes.”

“Okay, fine,” Dutch said, running his fingers through his wavy hair. “Buy me a bag of M&M’s.”

“Really?” Tilly asked.

Dutch put his hands on his hips. “That’s my final offer.”

“You’re not the best negotiator, are you?”

“Just go with it,” I said, nudging Tilly on the arm.

Tilly rolled her eyes. “Okay, fine, when Wyatt and I rent our movies, I’ll get you some M&M’s.”

“King-sized,” Dutch said, looking deadly serious. It made me laugh.

“Don’t push it, Dutch,” Tilly said, rolling her eyes.

“Sorry, sorry,” he said with a laugh. “I forgot to eat lunch. Okay, so what do you want to be called? I’ll work on Sully while you’re gone.”

“Um…I hadn’t thought of it, actually,” she said, looking surprised. “Almost anything but Weezer.”

“Why does he call you that?”

“Ugh, it’s a long story,” Tilly said, shaking her head and putting her hand on her forehead. “I think because I said Weezer was better than Nirvana or something? Sully’s obsessed with Kurt Cobain.”

“Ah, gotcha.”

“What about Appolonia?” Dutch asked, wiggling his eyebrows. “She was hot.”

“You mean the girl from Purple Rain?” I asked with a laugh.

Tilly shook her head, looking annoyed. “Don’t tempt Sully—knowing him, he’ll give me an even worse name than Weezer.” She glanced at her shelf. “Like Mallrat.”

“I was surprised to see that on your favorite’s shelf. Doesn’t seem like your kind of movie,” I said with a shrug.

“It’s okay, but it’s up there just to mess with Sully. Long story. I’ll tell you all about it at dinner.” She turned to look at Dutch. “The deal’s off.”

“What? Don’t do me like that, Appolonia.”

“Do you?” Tully asked, exasperated. “Are you high?”

“Not currently,” Dutch said with a wink. “Oh, and you two should probably get outta here soon. I heard Kevin’s about to go postal, and seeing your boy toy might set him off.”

“What do you mean?” Tilly asked.

“Boy toy?” I said in disbelief.

“I guess Hannah wrote him up twice this week, and he’s threatening to quit.”

“Oh, my God, that would be awesome,” Tilly said, looking hopeful and putting her hands together in fake prayer.

“I know, right? That kid’s a major douche.”

“Dutch, we need you on the registers!” Sully called from the front of the store.

“Smell ya later, kids,” Dutch said with a grin, placing the movie box in my hands and walking away.
