Take a Ride with Me

Chloe

Seattle, Washington

I can’t breathe.

I gripped the railing as sheets of light rain fell over me.

I needed a break from William’s assortment of heated gazes over dinner. His eyes practically said, “Are you still wet for me?” “When are you going to let me fuck you?” and “Do you really think you’re not coming home with me tonight?” whenever they met mine.

My panties were soaked beyond saving at this point, and I’d given up on any attempts to make lighthearted conversation with him. Nothing could dissipate the thick tension between us.

The door opened behind me, but I didn’t need to turn around to see that it was him. His heavy footsteps hit the damp concrete, and he moved behind me—holding an umbrella over my head.

He said nothing for several seconds, and I couldn’t help inhaling his sexy scent.

“Is there something particular you’re looking for out here?” he asked.

“The next thing on my scavenger hunt.” I lied. I’d long figured out what was next.

He used his free hand to grip my waist and spin me around.

“What’s the hint?”

“Dance your stilettos away under the night sky, someplace where the rain won’t be a pain,” I said. “It’s the next to last one until tomorrow.”

“Sounds like your friends are sending you to a nightclub.”

“I believe they are.”

“Hmmm. And the last one for tonight?”

A perfect addition to your collection of one-handed reads, until you find a guy who can satisfy your needs.

I blushed at the thought of it. “It’s private.”

“From what I saw, it’s some sort of sex toy. Although, for someone who has so much casual sex, I’m not sure why you’d need that.”

I gasped. “You read my list?”

“I did.” He smiled, gently squeezing my waist. “I was intrigued.”

“You know what? I think you’re standing a little too close to me right now.”

“Then tell me to move.”

I didn’t say a word.

All I could do was stare at him.

Under the Needle’s neon lights, he now looked like someone I’d seen before, but I couldn’t place where.

Where do I know you from?

“You’re a fucking vision, Chloe,” he said, derailing that train of thought. He trailed a finger against the swell of my breasts as the staff stepped onto the landing.

Setting up a table and chairs, they secured a massive canopy over it. Next, they arranged a fresh bottle of wine and four covered plates.
