“I’ll keep that in mind. If I do, will you let me sleep with you again?” he asked.

I searched his eyes for humor, but they shone with sincerity. Lost for a response, I had to look away.

“At least you now believe me about Jack.”

I nodded slowly. After my mother revealed that Chase had exposed Jack’s underhanded schemes and saved Mitch from losing his savings, Chase had reached hero status at home.

“Mitch loves you,” I said.

Chase laughed. “Just having the contract helps. It’s placed me in the good books with Mondaine—one of the agency’s oldest clients.”

Unable to keep staring at his beautiful face without stripping naked and performing an impromptu lap dance, I rose. “I’m hungry.”

He rubbed his very firm stomach with the six-pack I loved to run my fingers over. “So am I. The problem with vegan food is that I’m always hungry.”

“It’s called grazing,” I said, walking with him by my side.

“You don’t mind me joining you?” He practically skipped by my side, with that easygoing manner of his.

“Sure.”

I didn’t mind. If anything, it was nice to have someone to joke around with. Everyone on that cruise so far took themselves seriously.

Perhaps we could just be buddies,I told myself as we made our way into the dining area. What about friends with benefits? my inner vixen asked.
