Chase

Wewanderedaroundthe buffet, trying to decide what to eat. The ground swayed a little more than usual, and Ivy tumbled into my arms.

The elements were working for me.

Thanks, sea.

As I held her in my arms, Ivy’s rose scent radiating from her soft hair made my body tingle.

The spell broke as she untangled from my arms.

I turned down my mouth. “Party pooper.”

She rolled her eyes and straightened her tank top, which had ridden up slightly, revealing her milky skin and sending a bolt straight to my dick.

“I’m still trying to get used to walking around. I probably should wear flats.” She pointed at her wedged heels.

“I like it. Especially the rocking motion in bed,” I said, gazing into her eyes. It would be nicer with you in there with me.

“Me too.” Her lips curled at one end, and after another prolonged flirtatious gaze from my end, she snapped out of our little moment and turned her attention to the food. “Hey, there’s a nice vegan lasagna on the menu. Complete with soy mozzarella.”

“Do you think they’re clearing the Amazon to grow soy?” I asked.

She shrugged. “I hope not.”

“They sure need lots of it. Because almost everything vegan comes from soy.”

“It’s meant to be healthier. And I feel good,” Ivy declared, her eyes sparkling and full of life.

“You look great.” I studied her deep-blue eyes that looked brighter against the all-encompassing ocean-and-sky backdrop. “You grow more beautiful each time I see you.”

Our eyes held, then she looked away first, her face red. I seemed to have affected her again.

At least she didn’t respond with her usual eye roll, which gave me hope. My determination to win Ivy back was the only reason why I was on that ship, forgoing meat and sidestepping intrusive questions from men who looked like they came off a Lord of the Rings’ set.

We settled at a table by the window looking out to nothing but the blue sea.

“Nice view,” I said.

“It’s all one sees: the sea.” She chuckled.

“It’s relaxing, though. Not surrounded by noise and buildings.”

“I like it,” Ivy said, taking a bite of her food. “It’s kind of delicious.”

I munched on the pasta and nodded. “The cheese isn’t the same. But sure, it’s tasty.”

A woman and a man dressed in loose, colorful clothes, just like most of the people on the cruise, stood by our table. “Hey, do you mind if we join you?”

I looked at Ivy, and she nodded. “Sure.”

The male, who I assumed was in his forties, stretched out his hand. “Richard, and this is Samsara.”

The woman, who looked to be in her late thirties, gave a gentle smile.

“This is Ivy.” I gestured. “And I’m Chase.”

“Are you enjoying it so far?” Richard asked.
