I shrugged. “Depends.” I thought about it a little longer and shook my head. “Probably not.”

“Can we just be pals? Like at least during this cruise?”

I played with my fingers. “Sure.” I brightened up. “It’s mocktail hour. Goodie.”

“It is if you’re having what I’m having,” he said.

“Oh. Let me guess—guava, bitters, and lemon?”

“Nope.” His gaze slid to his pocket, where he revealed a metal flask.

“Is that what I think it is?” I asked.

“It sure is. So can I tempt you with a margarita?”

“Hell yeah.” I must have sounded like an alcoholic, but the thought of something fiery in my fruit juice really hit the right note.

“How did you get it in?”

He looked pleased with himself, like he’d outwitted a snoopy guard. “I smuggled a few bottles in my luggage. Just like Prohibition, but without guns and gangsters.”

I laughed then pulled a sad face. “So you’ve been hitting it hard without me?”

“No. Tonight’s the first time.”

After ordering a drink, he passed me the flask, and I popped it into my bag and headed to the bathroom like a schoolgirl sneaking a cigarette.

I returned and propped myself up on a stool. “Do you want me to move so that you can charm the crystals off a girl?”

He sniffed. “Nope. I’m happy here alone with you. It’s fun. Like old times, sharing wry observations.”

Just as he spoke, a couple of guys sashayed in, dressed in every color known to humankind. They settled against the bar and smiled at us.

Their eyes lingered over Chase, of course. After all, he did look ridiculously hot, unshaven and wearing cargo pants with a button-down shirt that revealed a hint of that muscular torso I loved to rub against.

“Enjoying the cruise?” one of them asked.

I nodded. “It’s relaxing, and it smells nice.”

One of the men wore a lopsided hairdo—shaved and tattooed on one side. “I’m Druid. Everyone calls me Drew.” He smiled and gestured to his friend, whom I imagined was his boyfriend. “And this is Merlin.”

Wearing a cape and giving off that wizard vibe, he suited his name.

Meanwhile, Chase’s eyes slid from the newcomers to me, and I wanted to giggle at the way his eyes danced with a glint of humor.

“So are you here for the healing workshops? Or for fun?” Drew asked, raising an eyebrow.

Everyone seemed to have base chakras on the mind, including me. I noticed Chase’s bulge after I bent down and exposed my braless breasts to him. My panties had become a little sticky too.

Damn Chase. I was supposed to be over him by now. Instead, we were sneaking drinks and acting like giggly schoolkids.

“I’m actually here to work,” Chase answered, emptying his supposed mocktail in one gulp.

“Oh? Are you running a workshop?” Merlin asked.

He shook his head. “No. I’m in advertising.”

“Oh, I see,” he said, turning his attention to me.
