“You would have made time,” Brandy reasoned. “And the fact you didn’t means you wanted him to call, better yet I bet you clenched and your heart sped up when I rang your doorbell. Maisie wasn’t the only one thinking Big Sexy was at the door.”
“He’s a biker,” Amber groaned.
“And?” Brandy asked. “Does he make your panties wet and heart race?”
Amber crossed her arms and turned her head away.
“Then he’s one up on Kevin,” Brandy said. “If he says that she meant nothing to him and she was just dancing, then I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Give it a try and see where it goes.”
“I do want more with Mountain. He is so sweet and Callum adores him.” Maisie was a daddy’s girl, it wasn’t the first time she’d suggested Amber go back to her father. Kevin was really good at planting seeds when his crops were low. She liked that he got along with Callum so well and her daughter could say what she wanted, there was a bit of a smile at her game having a second person cheering. Plus, what he made Amber feel was definitely something to think about.
“Well there you go.” Brandy’s mood had shifted, then again she was a margarita and half ahead of Amber. The news she dropped when she got here wasn’t something to be happy about.
“Tell me what’s going on with you Brandy?”
“You know it’s been coming to this for a long time. It’s not the first time Paul cheated on me, it was just the first time his ass was stupid enough to get caught. I’m just tired of it. This is a celebration to finally be done with the jerk.” Brandy laughed.
“That’s good that you’re not upset by it.”
“Shit, men are like buses,” Brandy said.
“There will be another one coming by fifteen minutes later?”
“Shit no, this is Montana not New York, when they break down a mechanic shows up like in a porno and gets the passengers where they need to go.” Brandy winked.
Amber shook her head. “Then let’s drink in celebration of your pending piston cleaning.” Amber held up her glass.
