The words were nothing compared to the eyes in telling her true intention as they left Maisie to play with Creature and headed up to his room. Spot cried out as soon as they entered and he quickly cracked a can of wet food, silencing her as Amber closed his door.

“Last night was, amazing,” she said with her back pressed against the door. “And I loved—”

“—Playing Scrabble,” he said hoping that was her favorite part of the night.

“Yes.” She smiled as red flushed in her cheeks. “That being said, do I need to worry about that last round?”

“From which perspective?” he questioned because he meant what he said about her getting pregnant. Now, ten years or never he was good. “Disease or baby?”

“Disease,” she said.

“Would you believe you were my first?” he said and when her eyes narrowed, he held his hands up in surrender. “Not that kind of first, like never not even in a heated moment of passion have I been with a woman without protection.”

Her eyebrow raised.

“Honest, my dad had condoms in my room before I could even talk to a girl.” Mountain stepped to her and put his hands on her upper arms. “I can have Red test me if you want, but Amber, you’re the only woman I wanted to feel.”

“So the strippers,” she said.

“Yeah.”

“No slip of the dick,” she said.

He had to hold in a smile. “Sorry, I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way,” he said.

“Is there a movie you can’t quote?” she asked as she laughed, “I get everyone is calling me Nightingale which seems in a way claiming, but I’m just getting back into dating.”

“And?”

“I’ve never been good at casual.”

“Are you trying to lock me down Nightingale?” he questioned and then sat on his bed.

“If you’re with me, you’re with me.”

“Spot, do you hear this?” he teased as he laid back on the bed and let his baby come give him a few kisses before she moved along and went back to her hammock on the window. “You gonna come give me a kiss before you leave?”

“Should I?” she questioned and she climbed on top of him and straddled his hips.

“Only if you’re good being with Wookie,” he said, letting out a pure Chewbacca howl.

“You are all sorts of weird wrapped up in a very nice package.” Amber leaned down, her elbows on either side of his face. “I like weird.”

“Damn, I was hoping you were going to say you liked my package.”

When her lips met his the world fell away for a moment, his fingers tangling in her hair. As much as he wanted to roll in the bed and trap her there, life was happening. His first meeting as a fully patched member and she needed to get home. All if it making the moment one he’d cherish as her tongue swept along his sending a hard and fast jolt to his hips. “We better stop,” he said panting as he pushed her away.

“Agreed, but Kevin has the kids next weekend,” she pointed out.

“If I can wait that long, sounds like a plan.” Once again, he pulled her down to him for a deep embrace.

Walking her down to her van, he said his goodbyes before heading up to the meeting room. Excitement thudded in Mountain’s chest from his first Church after being patched in. The last minute call for Church meant something big had come up and unlike the votes with his family, this one would mean something on the grand scale of things.

Carrying a cup of coffee, he walked into the large conference room they used for Church.

Most of the members were already there only Hollywood was missing.

“Hollywood isn’t going to make it. He’s on duty.” Red pointed to a chair for Mountain to sit down, next to Ax.
