I look around. “No one’s dancing,” I whisper-shout at him.

“Who cares? Live a little. You’re not scared, are you?”

I roll my eyes. “Of course not.”

I take his hand and he pulls me to my feet and into his arms. We don’t dance. Not really. We merely sway to the music. I tuck my face into his chest and inhale his scent. He smells like warm summer days that last forever. And who doesn’t love those? Goosebumps explode across my body as my pulse increases and my blood heats.

Aiden places his hands on my hips and pulls me closer. There’s not a millimeter of space between us now and I can feel every single hard plane of his body. Looks like I’m not the only one affected by our nearness.

He bends over and whispers into my ear, “I can’t wait to take you home with me.”

I open my mouth to tease him, but then he nips my ear and I moan instead. He licks the spot behind my ear before dragging his teeth down my neck. My bones are melting. I don’t know how I’m managing to remain upright.

“What are you waiting for?” I ask when I finally regain control of my vocal faculties.

He bends down and hands me the picnic basket and blanket. Then, he smirks before throwing me over his shoulder. I screech. “What are you doing?”

“Exactly what I’ve wanted to do since you said this was heaven. I’m taking you home and showing you what heaven truly is.”

Well, when you put it that way.
