I led them outside, where we ultimately packed everything into Gage’s truck and took off. I guided them along. Fifteen minutes later we stood before the building, the guys still extremely perplexed. And five minutes after that…

The elevator doors slid open, as they’d opened for Robert Valentine days before. A lot of things had changed since then. And thanks to the work crews they were still changing, even as we stood there.
“You didn’t…” Devyn swore, after a brief moment of confusion.
“I did.”
Devyn’s expression went from bewilderment to total elation. His smile said everything.
“Really?”
I met him mid-hug, squeezing him back. His grin was infectious.
“Really,” I breathed. “Yes!”
