"Do I get to see what you're going to do?" she asks somewhat nervously.

I shake my head at Jet—not that it's necessary; he already knows what he needs to do.

"Nope. Not until you're done."

"Okay," she states, making my chest swell. She doesn't hesitate for a second as she rests back and allows Jet to prep her skin for the ink, her new brand.

I'm fascinated as Jet turns the design we've worked on together into a reality on Mia's skin. It's unbelievable and so much more than I could even imagine from looking at it on paper.

All too soon, the buzzing of Jet's machine ceases and Mia lifts her head from the seat.

"Can I look now?"

I nod once at Jet, unable to wait any longer to see her reaction.

He brings over a mirror and holds it in front of Mia."Oh my God," she gasps as she takes in the floral design that now adorns her chest and completely covers the old brand that bound her to another. "It's incredible."

Tears spill from her eyes as she stares at her sore skin, at the roses and thorns that symbolize our lives, our past and our future. The beauty and the pain, the hope and the hell. The pure and the evil.

"You approve?" I ask, sitting forward in my seat.

"I love it."

"Good," I say, pushing to stand, "because you're going to be looking at it a lot."

Shrugging off my jacket, I undo my tie, pop the top few buttons of my shirt, and pull it over my head."My turn."

"What?" she asks with a laugh.

"It wouldn't be an official brand if we didn't match, baby."

"But your Electi brand…"

"It's time for change, Mia. Who we are doesn't need to be branded into our skin. Who we are is inside. It runs through our veins. It's in our every breath."

She smiles at me."Can I watch?"

"I wouldn't have it any other way. Time to carve out our future, Mrs. Easton."

"Bring it on, my king.” A smirk plays on her lips. “Bring. It. On."
