"I fucking told you to stay away from—"

"What the fuck, Easton. I heard her shouting and screaming.Icame to fucking help."

Not having the time right now to deal with the twisted motherfucker who seems to be stalking my girl, I turn to her and drop to my knees.

She's curled into a ball in the corner with her arms wrapped around her legs and her head resting on her knees as she sobs.

"Mia, baby. It's me. I'm here."

It takes a few seconds, but, finally, she drags her head up and looks at me.She's got makeup streaked down her face, and her eyes are dark and full of fear and… "What have you taken?"

She rears back at my abrupt question, her trembling lips parting as she stares at me as if I'm not really here.

"Fuck you. Fuck you. Fuck all of you," she screams, climbing to her feet the best she can with her body trembling. "You guys are all right, okay? Is that what you want to hear? I'm losing my goddamn mind," she shrieks, spinning around on the spot.

I watch her, pain twisting my stomach. I want to help. I want to do anything I can to take it away, but I don't know how.

"I thought he was here. I thought he chased me, pinned me against the wall. But it's all fake, isn't it? And to answer your question, I haven’t taken anything," she snarls at me. "You fucking cut me off, remember?"

"But your eyes. You've had something."

"You're all a bunch of fucking judgmental assholes, y-you know t-that?" Her voice cracks as her eyes fill with tears once more. "I can't do this anymore. I can't fucking do this," she screams, pulling out the pins in her hair and allowing it to cascade down her back.

"He should have killed me,” she sobs. “He should have fucking k-killed m-me." Her entire body sags, and I catch her just in time.

"I've got you, baby."

"I hate this," she cries against me. "I hate everything."

"Let's get you home, and you can sleep it off."

She doesn't argue as I lift her into my arms and walk away from Ashton. I pin him with a look that cuts off anything he might want to say before I take off down the hall.I don't stop to find anyone else. Instead, I walk straight out the front doors toward the valet and wait for one of our limos to be called.

The second it pulls to a stop in front of us, the young guy standing beside me opens the back door and I climb inside with Mia as gently as I can. Her body is a deadweight in my arms as I settle us on the bench, telling me that she's already passed out.

I bark my instructions at the driver through the lowered internal window and he takes off, not even bothering to ask about the others.I slowly ease my cell from my pocket, managing it without waking her—although if my suspicions are correct and she’s taken something then I doubt much will bring her back around for a while.

Texting the others a message, I let them know that she's safe and that we're heading back before alerting security to our impending arrival. Slumping down in the seat, I hold her tight.I twist her slightly so I can see her face. Even in her slumber, she's got deep frown lines marring her brow.

"I wish I could make it all go away, baby," I whisper, rubbing my thumb over my cheek in an attempt to wipe away some of the smudged makeup. "It will get better," I promise her. "You will find yourself again, I know you will."

I'm still staring down at her beautifully tormented face when the limo finally comes to a stop outside the house.Thankfully, our security team is already expecting us, and they help me get Mia out and into the house safely.

I take her straight up to my room and lay her down in my bed. After pulling her shoes off, I cover her with the sheets and take a huge step back, just watching her. My chest aches at the sight of her sleeping peacefully, hoping that she's actually getting some rest and not just trapped in her recurring nightmares.

A commotion downstairs alerts me to the arrival of the others only a few minutes later.Pressing a kiss to her brow, I quietly slip out of the room and close the door behind me.Everyone, including fucking Ashton, is standing in the hallway when I appear at the top.

"Is she okay?" Sasha asks as I thunder down the stairs, my heart pounding in my chest and my anger surging forward faster than I can control.

"Yeah, no thanks to him. Why is he here?"

"I'm worried about her," Ashton answers, despite the fact that I'm clearly talking about him, not to him.

"Bull-fucking-shit," I snap, getting right in his face. "I keep finding you with her when she's freaking out. It's you, isn't it? You're the one who's fucking tormenting her, making her think she's seeing things, driving her fucking crazy."

"W-what? No.” He pales. “I would never."

"You're a fucking liar," I bellow, slamming my palms into his chest hard enough to make him stumble back into the wall behind him.
