"We should probably…" she trails off but looks to the still open door once I release her from our kiss.

"Hmm… we should loc—" I rub my already hardening cock against her.

"Again?"

"With you, baby, always."

She looks up at me and gives me a small smile, showing me a glimpse of the old Mia, as she whispers, "Do your worst."

When we finally leave Cade's office, we've well and truly christened every surface. Each and every time I slid into her in there, I felt like I claimed a little bit more of his life.

I still don't know if I actually want it. But hell, if me having it means that he never gets to live this life again then I'm all for it.

We walk into the kitchen hand in hand, both looking thoroughly fucked with hickeys and scratches on our skin and bright red cheeks to find Channing drinking a protein shake, dressed in his workout clothes and also covered in sweat.

"You been out for a run?" I ask him as he runs his eyes over us with an amused expression on his face.

"Yeah, just got back. It's fucking cold out there this morning."

I glance to the doors behind him. "You run through the forest?"

"Don't worry, I didn't look for long." A smirk plays on his lips.

Mia turns into my side and slams her head into my chest.

"Appreciate it, man," I say, dropping my lips to the top of Mia's head.

"I'm going to shower," she whispers before slipping away and rushing from the room.

Channing watches her leave before his eyes come back to me. "How is she?"

Running my hand through my hair, I turn toward the coffee maker. "Same.”

"Last night was fucked up."

I look down at my busted knuckles and can't help but agree. "What's your gut feeling about Ash?"

Channing lowers his shake and turns to lean back against the counter. "I don't know. Before I'd have said he was a lying prick. But there's something different about him. I don't know. It might all be bullshit. He's always been a twisted fuck, but he's never really been a liar."

"Yeah," I mutter, copying his stance as the coffee maker jumps into action. "We can't continue like this. Something's gotta give. Before it's Mia."

Mia

“You’re following me. Why?” I step in front of Ashton as he pretends to be distracted by the noticeboard in the hall.

“Not following. Call it… extra security.”

My brows hit my hairline. “You’re trying to protect me now? You do know that we’re not friends, right?”

“Mia, give a guy a break.”

“I’m not doing this,” I mutter, spinning on my heel and taking off in the other direction. I’m meeting Sasha at the coffee shop just inside the building. It’s only a short walk, one I insisted I could make myself.

Seems Ashton has other ideas.
