Had he not been a monumental dick, he’d be perfect.

Once I finished struggling through my shower, I did a quick towel-dry of my hair before slinging it up in a clip. I didn’t bother with makeup since I’d be going to the gym after and then returning for my third shower. I threw on a pair of black, flare-leg bondage pants, a black, V-neck babydoll tee with Gir from Invader Zim on it, and black platform boots. I’d never been so happy to be in my normal clothing.

I didn’t have any homework, so I dumped my backpack out on the bed and put my uniforms in there instead. Once I’d packed everything, I grabbed my phone and checked the hallway like a coward. Satisfied Harper and clones were off elsewhere, I locked up and made my way to the elevator.

It didn’t take long to make it to Luna’s dorm, since she was in the next one over. Apparently, the most elite female students stayed in my dorm. It made so much more sense now why Luna had been so confused why I was in there. I didnotfit the profile for anyone in there.

“Oooh, somuch better,” Luna said, looking me up and down when she opened the door. “Come in!”

When I walked into her room, I was taken aback. She had one dark violet wall, and the others were a light grey. On the violet wall, she had black trees painted on the left and right side, their leafless branches reaching one another in the middle by the ceiling. It was beautiful.

She had a shadowbox with a KoRn poster in it. I couldn’t see what the silver writing on it was from where I stood by the door, but I assumed the writing was signatures. Looking around, I saw similar boxes with Rob Zombie memorabilia and another with Slipknot.

“Iloveyour room,” I said.

She smiled. “It’s not as big as yours—at least from what I’ve heard—but it decorates the same.”

The smaller apartments in this building were large enough to have a bed on one side and a living area on the other. Luna used her living area wisely and had a small kitchenette built into the corner while still having a small sectional in the other corner and a mounted TV across from it. It had a private bathroom and a large walk-in closet as well.

The rooms in my building were more like full apartments. They had a living room, a small kitchen, a single large bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and a bathroom. The other female dorm had typical dormrooms. They were small rooms, two people in each, and one large bathroom on each floor that everyone was expected to share.

It was obvious how the student body was prioritized. They might have uniforms for “professionalism” and to “limit bullying,” but they missed the mark entirely when painting big red bullseyes on students’ backs pointing to where they belonged in the hierarchy.

“You did an awesome job,” I said, looking around her space.

“Thanks! Make yourself at home.” Luna took my backpack and dumped it on the couch, sifting through everything. I sat on the opposite side of the sofa. “So, how was your first day at Crestview?”

“I haven’t known you long, but I do believe I heard a little humor in your voice.”

She looked at me and smiled. “Oh, yes. I wasn’t trying to hide it.”

“And what have you heard?”

Picking up one of my white shirts, her eyes went wide as she grimaced. She picked up the rest and threw them into a pile behind her.

“Ah, where to start?” she said. “First, there was the fight with Wolfe where you kicked his ass. Then there was the thing where youfuckedhim on the roof before lunch. Then there was the part where Harper broke your nose.” She looked up. “I guess that last one was definitely a lie.”

I touched the bridge of my nose. It was still sore, but it wasn’t broken. I hadn’t even gotten a black eye. I had to assume I had her lack of skill to thank for that. Still hurt like a bitch, though.

“Oh, no. That’s probably the most accurate of the three.” I paused. “On theroof?”

She laughed. “Yep. On the roof. Apparently, he had you bent over up there and doing some nasty shit.”

I rolled my eyes and buried my face in my hands. “Luna… today was probably one of the worst days of my life. And if you knew my history, you’d realize just how fucked that really is.”

“Tell momma all about it,” she said as she walked into the bedroom area. She got into her closet and removed a large case before carrying it back to the living area. Inside was a sewing machine and supplies. She placed the machine on the square coffee table, organizing everything how she liked.

“The fight with Damian,” I started, sighing before I continued. “That was a total accident. I stumbled on them bullying some guy.”

“Sorry to interrupt, but do you plan to buy black shirts?”

I nodded. “Hell yes. Now that I know I can, I definitely plan to. They told me I could only buy the white girls’ shirts, and they don’t button up all the way. You can’t wear a tie with them. And apparently, you can’t return them once they’ve been opened, or I’d have returned these monstrosities.”

She rolled her eyes. “Yeah, well, that’s theofficialhandbook ruling, but when you have money and a friend who isn’t afraid to be a bitch about it, you get what you want. Justin is that bitch. Make sure he goes with you, and they won’t even blink twice in your direction.”

I laughed. “Good to know! I guess he wasn’t joking about being the best Justin, huh?”

A smile split her face. “Not in the least. He’s a good guy, but he can also be scary as fuck when he needs to be. I mean that wholeheartedly. He’s not above swinging his big dick when it makes a friend’s life easier—or an enemy’s life harder.” She winked at me, then grabbed some thread and a bobbin and started stringing everything up. “Okay, since you’ll be getting new shirts, we’ll only alter like two or three of these. Unfortunately, not even Justin can get you out of wearing skirts, but at least you can be yourself in them. Now, continue. Who was it getting bullied?” she asked as she threaded white thread through the eye of the sewing machine needle.
