She rips herself from my grasp and takes a step back. "I'm not going anywhere with you."

I can smell the vodka on her breath, and the sound of sirens in the distance is enough to tell me that someone who saw the accident called the cops.

"Do you hear that?" I ask urgently. "If you're still here when they get here, you're going to get arrested."

"I don't care. It would be better than having to spend another second with you."

Rolling my eyes, I grab her by the waist and throw her little ass over my shoulder. "Sorry, babe. I don't give a flying fuck what you want right now."

Tye kicks and screams the whole way inside and all the way up the stairs, making people stop to stare at us as we pass. Thankfully, no one takes her seriously.

I walk back into my dorm room, and when I kick the door open so hard it slams against the back wall, Jace turns around. His eyes widen when he sees me set Tye down, blood still dripping down her face.

"I said talk to her, Carter, not kidnap her!"

Usually I would laugh, but not tonight. Not after what I just witnessed, and certainly not with my adrenaline at an all-time fucking high.

"Get out," I demand, my firm tone telling him this is serious.

His brows raise and he stands up. He grabs his keys from the kitchen counter and leaves without any questions asked. Once he's gone, I wrap my hand around Tye's wrist and drag her to the bathroom.

"Sit on the counter."

"No."

Holy shit. Does she have to push me on everything? I grab her hips and lift her up, placing her on it myself. Instead of fighting me on it, she pouts in her angry, childish way. I take the first aid kit out from under the sink and get to work on the cut.

"How did this even happen?" I say, cleaning the gash and the area around it.

She hisses as I touch a particularly sensitive area. "The damn car is a dinosaur. The airbag deployed, and I guess the piece in front of it got me."

"Yeah, well, you're lucky you don't need stitches."

"Stitches are badass."

I huff out a small laugh. "Trust me. You'll look badass enough when this scabs over. It's brutal."

As I finish placing the butterfly stitches over it, she turns around to check it out in the mirror. Tilting her head to see it from different angles, she cringes.

"These look like stitches for pussies," she groans. "Take them off."

I shake my head. "Not a chance. They're keeping that cut closed right now so it can heal."

"Ugh, fine." She hops off the counter and follows me out of the bathroom. "Well, thanks Dr. Douchebag. I'll be going now."

Tye tries to slip by me but I easily yank her back. "Oh, no. You're not going anywhere."

She scoffs. "So what, you clean up one cut on my face and suddenly you're the boss of me?"

"Fucking Christ, woman. Can you not push me for two seconds?"

Crossing her arms over her chest, she raises her eyebrows at me. We stand in a face-off until my phone rings, and I groan before pulling it out of my pocket. Jace's name on the screen is the only reason I answer it at all.

"What?" I growl.

He sighs. "There are a couple officers out here wanting to talk to you about your car. I'm guessing you've already seen it?"

Tye tries to leave, but I grab her waistband and pull her back, then hook my finger through her belt loop to keep her in place.
