"Didn't you steal her car and crash it intentionally?" Paige questions.

Tye shrugs as if it's no big deal. "Technicalities."

THE FOUR OF UShang around all day, playing video games and talking about bullshit. I have to admit, I could get used to this. I mean, there's a hell of a lot more distance between Tye and me than I would prefer, but I'd settle just having her near me if I had to.

It's around sundown when I get a text from Logan telling me about a party tonight. Tyeler is in Jace's room, helping Paige do her makeup for a date Jace is taking her on. When they come out, Jace's jaw drops when he sees his girlfriend.

"Wow," he says, speechless. "You look incredible."

She smiles. "Tye's a genius with a makeup brush."

Tye smirks and waves for her to continue. "Keep stroking my ego. I like it."

Paige chuckles, and Jace grabs his keys off the counter. "Are you ready to go?"

She nods and, with a wave, the two of them walk out the door, leaving Tye and I alone. She walks around and sits on the arm of the couch before falling backward onto the cushions. With an arm over her head, she exhales.

"Oh, good. You have comfortable couches," she says.

Confusion etches across my face. "And that's good why, exactly?"

She turns her head to look at me. "Because I can't go back to my room. I'll wake up to Bitcherly trying to scissor me or something. I've been friends with lesbians before, but that chick is fucking crazy. I put nothing past her."

I shake my head as I snicker. "Well, you can stay as long as you want. You know that."

"Careful, Trayland. You're letting your guard down."

"You won't try that shit again."

"No?"

Smirking, I narrow eyes on her. "Do it and watch what happens."

A light blush coats her cheeks. "No, thank you. I'm already recovering from last night."

It turns to a comfortable silence for a couple minutes until my phone dings with Logan looking for an answer. I almost forgot to even mention it. Just being alone with Tye is enough to have my brain all cluttered.

"So, there's a party tonight," I tell her.

"Zayn and Easton's?"

"Nah. Logan's fraternity."

"Oh." She sits there and thinks about it for a moment before answering. "Nah, I'll pass. But if you want to go, by all means. I can stay here alone."

My brows raise in surprise. "You don't want to go to a party? Has hell frozen over?"

During the time we spent in Florida, there weren't many nights that Tye wasn't at a party and having the time of her life. The only thing that could keep her from going out at night was having an assignment due, but most of the time she purposely finished in the afternoon so it wouldn't prevent her from having fun. So, to hear her turn one down is shocking to me.

"Well it's not like you'd let me drink, so what's the point?" she says, and it starts to make sense.

I tilt my head to the side. "Why do you want to drink so bad?"

"It takes the edge off."

"And do you need to take the edge off?"

No part of me thinks it was a bad idea to stop Tye from drinking. She's been making her worst choices lately under the influence of alcohol. However, I also don't want to be doing anything that makes her life harder either. The girl has been through enough.
