“Trust me, hon,” he caresses my chin and tilts my face up to meet his, “you’re anything but an ogre.”

“Maybe not right now, but –”

“Ever.” He leans closer, his erection pressing against my stomach. “If we had time, I’d show you how there isn’t an inch of your body that is not beautiful. But you need food, and we’re probably running late.”

“What time’s our date?” I hug myself tighter, forcing my focus on the last part of his statement.

“Whenever we get there.” He kisses my forehead, then strolls around the teak fence and grabs his pants.

I lock my place, plopping my keys in my dress’s pocket, then take in the darkening sky over the ocean. Biting my bottom lip, I glance over at Brendan and Breckin’s house. I bite the inside of my cheek. “Do you think he knows what we were doing?”

He picks up his boots, holding them in the same hand as everything else. “Trust me, he knows.”

“But how can –”

I expect some supernatural,we’re twinsexplanation, instead, he laughs as he stomps down the steps. “My truck’s been sitting in the driveway for a couple hours now, and I have yet to head over there. He knows.”

Biting my bottom lip, I glance at his house. My feet freeze, hand on the railing. Suddenly, a dizzy wave washes over me as I feel dirty and guilty all at the same time. My brain flies a thousand miles an hour, none of the thoughts completely formed.

Maybe I shouldn’t have taken things so far without talking to Breckin first. But I can’t deny my feelings for Brendan. Do I really want to go out with both of them? Is tonight a good idea?

Brendan runs his fingers along my chin. I blink. He’s right in front of me. He leans down, kissing my lips before resting his forehead against mine.

“Stop overthinking. It’s only dinner.”

I breathe him in, leaning against his chest as I close my eyes. “But he . . . And we . . . And . . .”

“It’s just food, Asra.”

I take another steadying breath, then shake all thoughts from my brain.“Okay.” I nod, forcing a slight smile.

Taking my hand, he leads me down the steps.

“Wait,” I exclaim halfway down my sidewalk, “aren’t you going to get dressed first?” He’s still completely naked, holding his clothes and boots in one hand. I try not to laugh, but a giggle escapes anyway.

“Nope. Clothes are dirty.” He holds them up.

“But . . .” He’s naked. Outside.

“I’ll get dressed next door. Unless you want me to take you out like this?” He raises his eyebrows.

“No!” I blurt the word.

“Clothes it is then.” He shrugs, then takes a few more steps.

I glance around nervously, peering down the length of the coast. A few people linger on the beach a hundred yards away. “Aren’t you worried someone might see you?”

He shrugs again, then holds his arms out wide. “And what? Deny anyone all this?” He rotates his hips. His half-hard dick swings in circles like a helicopter.

Covering my mouth to try and stop laughing. “You’re insane.”

“I prefer fun.”

“Uh-huh. And I would prefer if no one saw us.” Shaking my head, I grab his free hand and hurry next door.

“Honey, we’re home!” Brendan exclaims as we enter the back door.

I take one step inside and freeze.
