Breckin glances over from the center of the kitchen. His hands stall, rolling up the sleeves of his charcoal, button-up shirt. “Damn.” His eyes glide from my head to my toes twice.

I swallow, my throat suddenly as dry as the Sahara Desert. Dark jeans that hug all the right places, that fitted, charcoal dress shirt with the top two buttons undone and sleeves rolled halfway up his thick forearms, and his clean-shaven jaw, he’s like a refined, sexed up Adonis.

He continues to stare up and down my body as Brendan clears his throat from behind me. “I’m gonna go change.”

Breckin blinks, glancing at his brother. He smirks, then raises an eyebrow as Brendan strolls toward him.

“Fuck.” Brendan nods, returning his eyebrow raise, then rubs his stubbled chin. “Fuck.” Dropping his clothes in the kitchen, he heads into what’s supposed to be their dining room, his glorious, naked ass disappearing with him.

Chapter 20

Breckin

My eyes glide up anddown Asra’s body one more time as Brendan disappears into the dining room to change. “Um, you look,” I clear my throat, “wow.”

It’s all I can say. Yet, not nearly enough. That tight, sleeveless dress, her long legs, those boots, her long, dark hair, and spellbinding eyes, it’s like she gift wrapped herself just for me. She’s a seductive vision, even more alluring than the first time I saw her.

My blood pressure rises, my pulse quickening despite my blood all flowing straight to my pants. She licks her lips and I'm done. Any thoughts I had, any small talk I might have been capable of all flies out the window. In their place are all the ways I want to fuck her tonight.

That’s what it would be. I could say make love to her, and I fully intend to make it sweet, watch her come undone as many times as I can, but damn all the different ways running through my mind. Brendan’s statement when he strolled in here completely naked replays with the compilation. I’m sure most people would be jealous, but it just makes me more excited. The look in his eyes said it all. Tonight is the night. She’s ours.

Apparently, she could have been ours already. If I hadn’t been so busy today. My meeting this morning went better than expected, or worse. I had just delivered a mock-up, first draft concept to the client for a walking bridge through a nature conservatory in northern Washington on Friday. I was expecting this project to take at least a month to finalize, that there would be several revisions like most projects. But, the board liked it so much they only had a few tweaks for me to finish today.

Today.

As in I spent the entire day reworking and finalizing my design, then securing them all the appropriate permits to start on the bridge this week. My head hurts. Aside from spending all day rendering in AutoCAD, doing half a dozen full color mock-ups in Photoshop, and the hundred or so video calls to my firm’s team in Seattle, I spent the whole day on the phone with Washington’s building and roads committees and their conservation board. Forget doing two things at once, I was busy juggling three things at a time all day. Having two interns does me almost no good if they’re four hours away and can’t even fucking run out and grab me a coffee.

My mind is burnt. But it’s done. Too bad it took until half an hour ago to finish it. At least Havi was here today and installed all the appliances in both bathrooms.

We now have two functional bathrooms. Shower, sink, toilets, they all work. I was finally able to take a real shower, shave, and clean up.

I clear my throat again. “You look . . . Stunning.” I’m repeating myself. I know I am. Still, it needs to be said, twice. Hell, it needs to be said a thousand times. A million times. A hundred times a day for the rest of eternity. She’s beautiful.

Tucking her hair behind her ear, she glances down, then back at me. “Thank you. I, um . . . I wasn’t sure if it was too much.”

“No, it’s . . . It’s perfect.”

She fidgets with the hem of her gray dress, still standing in the doorway.

“Would you um . . . Would you like something to drink?” I gesture toward the fridge, then immediately feel like an idiot. “I can get you a glass of water?”

“Water would be nice.”

Nodding, I pull a glass from the cupboard and fill it with ice water. In the thirty seconds it takes me, she strolls all the way into the kitchen.
