“He’s right,” I interjected. “I haven’t had my period. And this doesn’t feel like the flu or a cold.”

Luca shoved up the sleeve of his suit jacket and checked his watch. “I have a meeting.” He got up from his chair and kissed my cheek. “We’ll know for sure in a few hours, baby girl. Go take a shower and get ready for the doctor. I’ll see you when he gets here.”

* * *

Two hours later, the doctor arrived and drew my blood. Dr. Carpenter left us with three different brands of home pregnancy tests. Luca had insisted we have an instant response since the blood would take more time to process through the lab. All of us had been on edge since Marcello blurted out the P word at breakfast.

It was possible.

But me as a mother?

I wasn’t ready to be a mother yet.

I headed into the bathroom and unboxed three different pregnancy tests. I sat on the toilet and peed on one after the other. With all three tests on the counter, I washed my hands and looked in the mirror. My cheeks flushed from the nerves spreading through my chest.

I knew without a test I was definitely pregnant. Over the past two weeks, even Bastian had noticed my boobs were bigger. My nipples often felt sore and sensitive. And then my stomach wreaked havoc on me.

I opened the door and gestured for Marcello to step inside. He clutched my shoulder with his big hand, standing beside me in silence as we waited for the results. It didn’t even take the full two minutes for all three tests to change color. One had a blue plus sign, one had two pink lines, and the final one said the word positive.

My heart dropped to my stomach as I studied each of the tests. “The timing could not be worse. Men are still trying to kidnap me and add me to their stupid fucking auction.”

“We have allies committed to destroying the Bratva. They won’t get to you inside the walls of our estate.”

“They almost got me once. And you paid the price for it. You barely survived the gunshot wound.”

He rolled his broad shoulders. “Look at it this way, princess. I stared into the depths of Hell and somehow lived to tell about it. For you, I climbed through the fiery pits and battled the demons that tried to keep us apart. No one will touch you.” He rubbed his hand over my stomach. “Or this baby.”

I stepped out of the bathroom with Marcello in tow. Luca sat in the armchair by the window in my bedroom with his shoe propped up on his knee. Damian sat on the other side of the table while Bastian had his shoes off and laid across the mattress on his stomach, staring at me.

Luca dropped his foot to the floor and leaned forward, elbows on his thighs, as his blue eyes seared a hole through me. “So? What did the tests say?”

I smiled. “I’m pregnant.”

Luca was out of the chair and on his knees in front of me so fast I didn’t even have time to comprehend what he was doing. He moved both of his hands to my hips and kissed my stomach, then rested his head there. I held the back of his head and looked at each of my guys. They didn’t seem the least bit surprised by this rare display of affection.

Bastian got up from the bed and dropped to the floor beside Luca. Then Marcello took a knee on my right, Damian on my left. I reached out and shoved my fingers through each of their hair, needing to touch them, to be closer to them.

Luca lifted his head and then reached into his pocket, producing the same velvet box from The Mansion. His mother’s engagement ring. He cracked open the box and held up the massive diamond that illuminated when the light reflected off it.

“Drea, baby, I didn’t do this the right way last time.” He clutched my left wrist and brought my hand to his mouth to kiss my skin. “All five of us.” His eyes moved to each of his brothers before landing on me again. “We’re in this together.”

Marcello grabbed my other hand. “Marry me, princess.”

Bastian stole my hand away, dipping his head down to lick my skin. “Marry me, Cherry.”

Then Damian took my other hand from Luca’s grasp and sucked my fingers into his mouth. “Marry me, Pet.”

Of course, Luca saved himself for last. He took both of my hands and kissed each of them. “Marry me, Drea.”

Tears streamed down my cheeks, dripping onto my shirt. Maybe it was the pregnancy hormones, or perhaps it was the fact all four of them had asked me to marry them.

“Just to be clear,” I said, to break the silence in the room. “I can only legally marry one of you, right? You didn’t bribe a congressman to change the marriage laws?”

Bastian laughed.

Damian smirked.

Marcello shook his head with an evil glint in his eyes. “No, but if it’s that important to you…”
