“As for Alexandrea’s shares in Wellington Pharmaceuticals,” Arlo said in a deep tone, drawing my attention back to him. “They will transfer to Luca after the wedding.”

What shares?

He made it sound like our wedding was purely transactional. Like I was nothing more than a pawn to move around a chessboard. Maybe at first it was a business deal between our families. But over the past few months, I’d fallen in love with each of them. This wedding was real in every sense.

I glanced at my grandfather. “How many shares do I own?”

Pops set his snifter down on the table and turned his gaze to me. “You and Aiden each own twenty four and a half percent of the company. I own fifty-one percent. When I die, you and Aiden will inherit everything.”

My lips parted in surprise. “And Luca will get all of my shares?”

“Yes, but he’s not allowed to sell them. It’s part of the deal I struck with Arlo. The shares will pass to your children.”

I left the topic alone and assumed my grandfather had my best interest at heart. It didn’t matter if Luca owned a portion of my family’s company. He would be my husband soon. All four of them would officially be mine.

“To the start of a brilliant partnership between the founding families.” Arlo raised a glass, stealing everyone’s attention back to the head of the table. “To Luca and Alexandrea.”

Midway through dinner, all of our cell phones dinged with a new message. It was the group chat with Drake Battle and a few of the local Knights.

Drake Battle:We got Savanna and one of Lorenzo’s men. Meet us at the safe house on 5th.

I glanced over at Bastian and Luca. They pushed out their chairs from the table. Marcello was next to rise to his feet. With a nod in my father’s direction, I followed my brothers and excused myself from the table. All four of us left the ballroom without a word.

Alex’s heels clicked on the marble floor behind me. She tugged on my suit jacket sleeve. “What’s going on?”

I turned to face her. “Drake found your mother and her boyfriend.”

Her eyes widened. “I’m going with you.”

“Stay here,” Luca shot back. “Let us handle this, baby. You’re safer at home.”

“No.” Alex gritted her teeth. “She kidnapped me and sold me to a Mafia boss. That bitch tortured me and starved me for most of my childhood. I want revenge, too. You can’t take this from me.”

She was right.

I called out Aiden’s name. He rushed into the hallway with a doe-eyed look. The Wellington heir definitely wasn’t Knights material, despite his legacy as a Founder, but he’d proved himself to be useful. After the wedding, he would return to his post to finish out his initiation into The Devil’s Knights.

“Fine,” Luca groaned. “You can come, but you need to change out of your dress.” He tapped her on the back. “Take Aiden with you.”

Without a word, Alex turned on her heels, holding Aiden’s hand as they walked down the hallway.

“What are we going to do with Savanna?” I asked Luca, who had been planning every way to kill her for years.

At one time, he wanted to kill Alex. He took out his anger over his mother’s death on our girl. But all three of us fought him. Even I didn’t want to see any harm come to her. Not after I touched her, tasted her. I would have slit my brother’s throat if he put his hands on her.

“We need to find out who hired her,” he said. “Then we can get rid of the bitch.”

“Witnessing this could trigger another episode from Alex,” Marcello cut in. “I don’t think she should see us torturing her mom.”

“It will be therapeutic.” Luca grinned like a maniac. “Maybe it will give her some closure.”

After Alex changed into black yoga pants and a red tank top, she met us at the entryway, still holding Aiden’s hand. I’d never spent much time around her twin. He seemed okay, a little too soft for my liking, but he was protective of our girl.

So he was okay in my book.

We piled into the Escalade, and Marcello drove us to the safe house in Beacon Bay. No one spoke the entire ride. I stared out the window, watching the dark sky pass us by as I thought of all the ways I wanted to torture the people who kidnapped our girl.

Marcello parked in front of the apartment building in Beacon Bay. This place was like a second home to me. There were times over the years when I slept on the floor in the apartment, right beside a body. Still covered in blood, my heart racing, my cock as hard as steel.
