“Mommy, water,” she heard Naomi’s voice from the next room.

“Gotta go. Water round.”

“Goodnight, Hope. Don’t freak out, but I miss you.”

She bit her bottom lip. He was doing to her heart what he was doing to every other part of her.

“Not freaking.”That wasn’t entirely true.“And me, too.” Hundred percent true.

But, was this too fast? She had been divorced for over two years, had had one world-class crappy first date, then a few weeks with someone she liked, which had culminated into nothing, and now this. This man who made her body sing.

She filled a glass with water and drank it standing over the sink, drinking it like she had just gotten back from a bonfire. Only the bonfire was in her heart. She filled it again and went to Naomi’s room.
