Page 4 of Burning It Down

We never found one we could have an actual relationship with. So many women wanted to bethe one, and we tried a little bit with a couple women, but it just didn't work. It takes an exceptional dynamic to share with a woman, and we were okay with it. But sometimes, they weren't.

I finally drifted off to sleep and woke up early to the smell of bacon and eggs.

I got up and threw on my jeans and a T-shirt. I went into the bathroom to do my business, and my stomach was rumbling from the delicious smells. I hurried into the kitchen, and standing in our kitchen, in what looked like one of Charles's T-shirts, was Isabella.

Her hair was tied back into a low ponytail, and she was cooking breakfast. She had eggs frying in the pan and a couple of coffee cups on the counter. "Good morning," she beamed at me.

“Good morning.” I grabbed a coffee cup and took a drink. “What do we have here?”

"I couldn't sleep, and you guys have been so nice to me, so I got up and made breakfast. She put a plate in front of me piled high with bacon, eggs, and toast. "Have a seat. Eat up. It's the least I could do."

I sat down to eat, shoveling the eggs and bacon. I had to admit, it was pretty good, and it was nice to have a warm breakfast. I usually just grabbed coffee and didn't eat until lunch or dinner.

I didn't say much while I ate, and she didn't say much while Isabella cooked. We had a comfortable silence, and I watched her when she wasn't looking.

Her legs were long and sexy, and I thought about how they would look wrapped around me.

I tried to get the thoughts out of my head; sleeping with her would surely start a war.

Charles came out of his bedroom, hair damp, wearing his signature t-shirt and jeans.

“It smells lovely in here. Did you cook? He smiled at Isabella, and she grinned back at him. I could see the attraction between the two of them. They didn't try to hide it. I was attracted to her, and I swore I caught her looking at me a few times. I was just more cautious than Charles was.

He tended to think with his heart or his dick. I actually used my brain. That was how we balanced each other out. He kept me in check when I was too cold, and he helped me be more sensitive.

Isabella set a plate in front of him. She added another one in between us. The three of us sat eating at the counter in silence. It was weird. We just met this girl yesterday, but we were so comfortable around each other, and it felt like we'd known each other a long time.

After eating, I took the dirty dishes to the dishwater.

“I can do that. It's the least I can do for you guys. You have no idea how grateful I am to be here.”

"Nope. That's the rule. If someone cooks, they don't have to clean up." I grabbed another dirty plate and walked away from her protests. "We appreciate your cooking, and it's no problem that you're here."

“Okay.” She pulled out a piece of paper. “I did make a list of a few things. I was wondering if you guys could get them. Not too much. Just some clothes, and maybe an iPad and a phone. I hope that’s okay.”

I took the list from her. “I'll take care of it. I'll make sure you have all these things by the end of the day.”

"Thank you," she said, smiling at me. She had her hand on my arm, and it felt nice and warm.

I had to admit I could get used to having a woman around.

Charles and I had some things to take care of, so we left Isabella alone at our penthouse. We beefed up security, having a few extra guards around just in case. That place was like Alcatraz; there was no way Bruce or any of his guys would get to her up there. We made her promise to stay there, though; she wasn't to leave the penthouse.

I emailed one of my assistants, sending her Isabella's list. She promised to get everything over to her within a couple hours, and I thanked her.

The next couple of days were peaceful and quiet. Charles and I would run our errands throughout the day, take care of business, and come home to Isabella. We usually ordered takeout for dinner, but she loved to cook us breakfast every day. We would watch movies and play some games together.

Then one night, Isabella decided we should play a drinking game.

That's when everything changed.

CHARLES

Billy said I was crazy, but I was falling in love with Isabella. We spent every minute we could with her when we were home. She was a bright girl, funny and beautiful. That body of hers was a killer as well.

She was also charming. Every night after she went to bed, I kept insisting to Billy that she was the one, and every night he argued with me. We usually watch movies at night, but Isabella decided we should play a drinking game one night. She wanted to play quarters, and it wasn't long until we were all buzzed a little.
