He pulls back, white veins popping from his bronze skin. “I have enough volts in my body to kill at least ten people, then I have to recharge.”

I watch as the tree calms down and stops smoking. “I haven’t seen many hellhounds in action.”

He rolls his shoulders. “Want to see my hound?”

“Yes!” Joy leaps inside of me. I’ve only seen a few hounds, including Ledger’s fire hound.

“Set up a target for me,” he says, pointing at the equipment by the wall of the training yard. The field reminds me of a football field from high school—a human high school—with less field goals and lines. Most people run around the track while others use the equipment from the shed nearby. Kicking off his sneakers, he begins pulling down his pants, but not his boxers.

“Hazen!” I don’t advert my eyes.

He chuckles. “I am going to be naked after if I don’t do this.”

Cracking fills the air, all his muscles contort, and his limbs lengthen. He drops to his knees, face shifting until he resembles a wolf. His hound is just as big as Ledger’s, but he has white fur covering his whole body with blue glowing marks which I can only assume is his magic. Hellhounds are normally seven-feet-tall in their human and hound form.

Resisting the urge to pet him, I move in front of him, putting a target bullseye in his line of sight. I step aside but he jerks his head, telling me to move more. Moving further away, I see his shoulders stiffen as he reels back before releasing a large roar. A bolt of glowing gray electricity flies from his mouth and hits the target. It explodes in a million pieces, flying throughout the air. My eyes widen as I look at the scene in front of me. He’s powerful, just as powerful as Ledger and his Hell fire.

After a moment, Hazen shifts back with a groan, stretching his limbs and shaking them out. I pick up his sweats and hold them out for him. I try so hard not to look, but at the last second, I glance down. His cock is thick and big with veins leading to the swollen tip, and I’m not even sure he’s hard.

He chuckles, sliding on his pants. “So?”

Enormous… “Uh.” I blink, trying to remember what we were talking about. “I think you are very powerful. I also think that we will work well together.”

He smiles. “Yeah? I mean… after the bonding ceremony, we still have the choice to separate.”

My eyes narrow. Why would he say that? If we bond successfully, I want to stay with him. Unless he’s like Inarian and had a reaper without being successful. “How come you don’t have a reaper? Your magic could be so useful.”

His hands twitch, but I can’t tell if he means to do that. “I just haven’t been able to find one that works with me. I feel like you and I can be good together.”

I bite my lip. “We will see.”

He smiles. “Hey, do you want to go get breakfast?”

I glance down, seeing the outline of his… “You, uh, need clothing.”

He looks down at himself. “What? You don’t like?”

I snort, walking away. I don’t need to tell him that I love it. He knows. “Meet at the mess hall? Are you going to sit with Ledger and the others?”

He nods. “Yeah, but I don’t have to.”

“No. I need intel. I need to know if he’s pissed at us.”

“For?”

“For kissing.” I freeze. “He and I kind of… had a moment in the bathroom.”

Hazen snorts. “I know, I smelled him on you… I’m sure he’s not pissed. The kiss was just a dare, right?” He bumps me, moving to the hellhound dorm. My eyes fall to his ass for a few steps before turning to the mess hall and getting breakfast. I doubt Amos will be here by how drunk she was yesterday. I grab what I normally get, turning around and locking eyes with Ledger at his normal table.

He clenches his jaw and he looks away.

“Men.” I huff, rolling my eyes

I see Inarian sitting alone, reading a book. He’s a bit sweaty from his morning workout. I move to his table, sitting across from him. He doesn’t even bother to look up.

“I have a hellhound.”

He glances up, “Feel bad for that poor fuck.”
