Page 74 of Hell's Reaper

The self-defense teacher, Mrs. Hill leads us outside toward the training field on the side of the academy, right before the Soul Reaper’s dorms.

As we got closer, I see others on the field. Mrs. Hill did say we were going to be training with other classes, even higher ranked. Khazon stands amongst them, seeing the shorts ride up his thick muscular thighs as he bends to stretch his body. My eyes drop to his round ass then to his veiny hands that grabs one ankle.

“Don’t drool,” Amos says, bumping me.

I blink, itching my hair as if I didn’t just stare at him. I think when we were younger, I liked him, but it never got past the crush phase.

My main focus was being heir and claiming the throne.

Khazon straightens and stands, moving forward to… Miya who is glaring at me.

If looks could kill, I’d be six feet under.

I wave with a smile running over my lips.

Miya’s lips move when Khazon gets close to her and he looks over his shoulder, glaring at me too.

What did she tell him?

“Let’s do a few practice combats!” Mrs. Hill announces to everyone. “Pick partners!”

Prying my eyes from Khazon, I reach for Amos, but she’s already looking for her hellhound. I don’t blame her. I would want to train and practice with them as much as I could.

My eyes move to Ledger, but before I can say anything, a heavy voice booms right behind us. “She’s mine.”

I barely lay eyes on Khazon before he pulls me away from Ledger. Desperately, I reach out for the fire hellhound but all he does is shrug, helplessly.

Khazon places me directly across from him, eyes glaring at me.

“Okay, one partner will be on defense, the other on offense. You may begin.”

Hearing that triggers something inside of Khazon. He lunges for me, quickly hopping in the air, and kicking out. His foot connects with my chest, sending my ass onto the ground and my lungs wheezing for air.

“Get up, princess…” Khazon growls.

With a few deep breaths, I finally get to my feet, only for him to drop low and swipe his leg over mine. I hit the ground hard and he stands over me.

“So weak.”

Show him weak. Circe says. Rage fuels a fire in my chest, clouding my judgment. I launch to my feet and start my assault. Every punch, every kick, Khazon blocks like it’s nothing.

With a change of pace, he grabs my ankle and pulls my body hard into his chest. My palms press into his chest as a gasp escapes my lips. My eyes look up at him.

“Why would you fuck my hound after I told you to stay away from him?” he asks.

My eyes widen a bit. The rage that is burning in his eyes isn’t something I’ve ever seen on him before. Khazon has always been calm and levelheaded. Right now, he reminds me of a mad man.

“You really need to learn your place.” He grits through his teeth, pushing me backwards.

My ass hits the ground, but I don’t stay down for long. I jump up, sending a punch and kick combo his way. One of my punches lands against his chest, but it barely looks like it hurt him.

He grabs my fist and pulls me close. His knuckles connect with my cheekbone. My head swings back and my body follows.

“Khazon!” Ledger snaps.

“You want to know why I am faster, smarter, and better than you?” Khazon says, hovering over my body. “Because I didn’t leave. I stayed and became better than you will ever be.”

I scatter to my feet, ignoring the throbbing pain in my cheek. “I left with a good reason.”
