Hell, sweet Hell.

Hell isn’t how it is imagined. Yeah, things are on fire and there’re cliffs at every turn, but it’s divided into a few different places, like the Palace of Hades in the east. It’s nicer now that Persephone does the decorating. It’s still all gothic and sad looking, but it’s like gothic chic with flowers everywhere. She has miles and miles of fields full of fruit and flowers. I loved going there as a kid, hanging out with their son, and eating everything I could find until I got into trouble.

Then you’ve got Satan’s Palace. Everything there is on fire, I swear. He lives deep in the mountains toward the north and rarely leaves his home. The river, Styx, divides him and Hades because they tend to not get along.

Then there’s Lucifer. Kind of the hottest, if you ask me. None of the underworld Kings are related to me, thank god.The things I’d let Lucifer do to me are a sin. That’s all I have to say about him. His palace is all red and black, the colors of a sex dungeon.

Then there’s the Devil in the center. Dad likes to show off that he is stronger than all of them. Technically he rules the underworld while the others control their sections and jobs. My father is the true representation of Hell. The dark caverns that surround the house have spikes below it. His castle looks dark and tall, and everywhere you look there’s a spike—not exactly safe for kids.

“Can we go visit Hades?” I ask Khazon as we trudge up the hill to my father’s palace. One wrong step and you fall into the spikes before the lava eats away at your skin.

I’m used to it.

“No,” he deadpans.

“But I want to see Cerberus!” I whine.

“You’re not a kid anymore, Asura. Stop acting like it.”

I nod. “So, how about Lucifer? I heard he might have a stripping pole in his throne room, how true do you think that is?”

Khazon lets out a huff.

“Very real,” Ledger answers, looking down at me. He’s clothed now, sadly. “His son goes to the academy and said so.”

I gasp. “Aw! Little Aragon goes to the academy?”

“No, the other one.”

I pause for a second. “Jude?”

He shakes his head.

“Theron?”

He nods. “But the other other one, too.”

“Lucifer has been busy,” I mutter. “Ezekiel?”

“Bingo!”

I gasp, touching my head as we walk up the dark stairs of the palace. “I bet he’s so hot now.”

“He looks like his father,” Ledger says.

I fan myself. Did it just get ten degrees hotter in here? “Who else goes there?”

Khazon sighs. “Your siblings, the Grim Reaper’s daughters, and Hades’s son.”

“Ozias?” I gasp. “You’re lying! I need to go. That academy seems hotter than Hell!”

He growls. “They actually want to be there and take it very seriously. I doubt your father will let you go after the shit you’ve been pulling.”

I roll my eyes, catching a glimpse of the Shadow Guards. They blend in with the rock towers that surround the palace. When hired, each one was given the power to blend in with their surroundings on top of their birth powers. The large doors begin to open with a heavy groan that spreads so far that all the dead souls would be able to hear it. They groan along with it. “You forgot to realize I’m Daddy’s little girl. He’d never—”

“Asura!” The Gates of Hell open with my father’s booming voice. I freeze and stiffen. Being my father’s eldest child and only daughter, I never got yelled at in my life. I’ve created so much trouble, but not once did he ever get mad.

Khazon pats my back. “Good luck.”
