The yelling wakes me up from my slumber, forcing me sit to up. My body—well, Asura’s—aches with each movement I make. My eyes roll at the voices for waking me up as I move from Asura’s room and down to the foyer, tightening my silky robe. The decorations around the house are dark and damn near gothic, but still very sophisticated. Not Hot Topic gothic, moreTheAddams Familygothic.

The Devil has always lived in style.Fucker.The children are spoiled in that sense. I knew when I looked at that massive bed in Asura’s room. She is spoiled but doesn’t act like it.I’ve met spoiled demons before.

I march into the living room, hearing the voices shout louder at each other. The only one I recognize is Khazon’s.

“Is there a reason why we are screaming so early in thefuckingmorning?” I snap as soon as I enter the threshold of the living room. All heads turn to me, and for the first time, the room is silent.

One cute guy steps forward, icy blue eyes on me. His eyes complement his bronze, brown skin that looks like Asura’s. He’s tall—a hellhound. I smell the wet dog smell from upstairs. “Asu—”

“Not her,” Khazon says, stepping into the way. His dark eyes narrow on me, coldly. He looks so much different than he did a few years ago—yes, I haven’t been out oftherein a few years. I feel like a genie trapped in a lamp and the lamp is Asura’s hard ass head. His dark curls are longer, hanging past his chin. He’s taller and way wider than I remember. The muscles that riddle his body look almost edible. Asura is stupid not to fight for him.

“Oh, hello, Khazon. Long time no see,” I say with my lips curling into a smile.

“Circe…” Khazon looks down at me with hard eyes.

“Wait, who actually is Circe?” the pretty tan guy asks. His red-rimmed eyes are on me, almost as if he’s waiting for me to say it’s all a prank. He’s too soft. He looks like he’s been upset and has maybe even been crying all morning.

A figure shifts in the corner and my eyes land on…Ledger. Tall, dark, and handsome. His dark brows are pulled together, and his jaw is tight. “Mhm, hello. We haven’t met formally yet.” I move to him, hips swaying. I’ve got to give it to Asura; she has a beautiful body, gorgeous curves and wide hips, big round breasts, and a stunning face with silver hair. “Circe.”

He looks down at me. “Yeah, I know that. Who exactly are you, and where’s Asura?”

I roll my eyes and gag at her name. “Sleeping, because apparently getting stabbed is too much for her to handle.” When they stay silent, I continue. “She’s fine. I’m her demon form.”

“But you aren’t connected with her? I’m confused,” the other hellhound says. He’s pretty, but he seems too kind and stupid.

“Go ahead,Dad. Tell them the story.” I mock the Devil who is in the back of the room. He’s been lurking, watching everyone, and letting them fight.

He sends me a glare. He’s never this rude to Asura. With a swipe of his hand, the doors of the living room slam close. The sweet hellhound jolts a bit, eyes widening.

I smirk, moving to the bar behind the couch. He must have never seen the true potential of the flame. My eyes look to the Devil, and the fiery red swirl of magic peeping from his button-up.I want that power he has.It will be mine soon… Well, Asura’s.Just looking at the Devil, I can tell he has something on his mind. He told Asura about his vision and how she needs a court of men to protect her.The daughter of the Hell King needing protection? There’s more he’s not saying.

“If this leaves this room, I will make sure all of your deaths are terrible,” the Devil says.I almost believe him.“Asura’s mom… is human.”

The room is still silent, making me glance at tall, dark and handsome. His crimson eyes are on the floor, jaw relaxing.God, he’s so gorgeous. Who is this kid’s dad? A god?“How is that possible?” he speaks. His voice is like a thick pool of honey, heavy but velvety. “Demons and humans…”

“Don’t mix,” I finish.

His eyes lock with me, brows pulling together. I can tell he’s concerned. I smile, licking my lips.Does… does he really like Asura?I don’t blame him. Tilting my head, I run my eyes over his body flirtatiously, stopping at his crotch.I wonder if he’s big…

“Glad to see you act exactly like Asura,” Khazon mutters.

I throw my head back and chuckle. “Jealous?” He rolls his eyes while I move to the couch and sit. “Back to the story. Asura’s mother was desperate to get in touch with the Devil… She thought a summoning would bring the fucker back. Instead, she summoned me. The shock sent her into labor and the baby was stillborn… Until I saved her.”

“What was the deal for saving Asura?” Ledger asks, eyes wandering over me. Sadly, it isn’t the flirtatious way I want it to be. Instead, it’s more like…What is she?

I shrug. “Her body, so now we share a body.” I cross my legs, wishing I drew attention to them, but this crowd seems to be tough tonight. They don’t look at me like they look at Asura. There isn’t much of a difference. We have the same face, the same body, and the same pussy. I just have a lilac tail and black horns curling from her silver curls.

“So, Asura is fine?” the other guy asks.

“Physically?” I point at my purple body. “She’s fine. I healed her. Can’t have her dying, I’d lose this body.”

“How generous of you,” Khazon deadpans.

“Mentally, I have no idea how she is. She seemed like a mess over Killian and… some Saw dude. Those intruders were after her, though and the Hell Storm seem to be a distraction. After I saved that guy, they just fought with me until they finally left.”

The red-eyed hound sits, swallowing the couch in front of me. “I shouldn’t have left her.”

I wave my hand, wanting to tell him I saved her then the Devil saved the school by stopping the Hell Storm, but guilt and otherfeelingsgather in my chest. They aren’t my feelings, and I must swallow them down. She’s waking up and fighting for the forefront. But I hate it there. The meds dull me. They trap me, leaving me lonely. The little brat has been trapping me in the dark space of her mind for years.
