Slowly and carefully, I start to climb up to the landing where he is. When I get closer, he holds out his hand. I slide mine into his and let him help me up.

“Glad to see nothing could kill the heir. Not even a Hell Storm.”

I shrug. “I was trained by the best on how to deal with it.”

“What? Running into the acid rain, trying to save someone?”

A smile crawls across my lips as I look up at one of my longtime friends. “Someone did it for me once…”

His eyes move to the scene of Hell around us, as if he’s trying to remember the memory. “Why did you have to be so stupid?”

“Excuse me?”

He rolls his eyes. “You could have gotten hurt, Asura.”

“I’m a big girl, Daddy. I can handle it,” I say with a snort, sitting on the room next to him.

His eyes snap to me, sending a shiver down my spine. If he had eyes like his father’s, it would not be this scary. His lips part as his eyes wander my face. “Just… don’t be stupid again.”

I snort. “Is that even possible for me?”

A small smile breaks across his pale lips. Ozias looks like his father, ivory pale skin and harsh scary features. The resting bitch face, almost black eyes, and long purple-black hair are all features he gets from his mother, Persephone. He’s very handsome, and I always thought that. Last time I saw him before I left, he looked completely different. “Didithurt you?”

He stiffens before slowly relaxing. “No.”

It hard to think of me leaving not hurting him, “You can tell me. Khazon has no problem—”

“I’m not Khazon. I’m not a fucking idiot who would rather hurt my friend’s feelings instead of celebrating she’s back.”

I blink at him, remembering all he did for me. He might not have hung out with me every day like Khazon did, but he was still one of my closest friends. I never wanted to choose between guys.

Now look at me. I’ll probably need to choose between Hazen and Ledger.

I don’t want to.

My love for all these men is different. Khazon kept me grounded and sane, almost logical. He’s always stopped me from getting into too much trouble. Ozzie kept me safe and taught me the softer side of things. We’d stroll through the fields, and he’d told me about all the flowers his mom would grow. He’d show me each one and ramble on. I’d listen and cling to each one of his words because that was the only time Ozias looked… soft.

Hazen takes care of me or seems like he would. He always notices the slight changes in me. Ledger protects me. He would light the world on the fire, or that’s what it seems. I don’t know these two men the best, but I want everything they have to offer.

I inhale sharply, standing and holding out my hand. “Dad’s cooking.”

Ozias takes my hand, standing. He towers over me in height, and it forces him to look down at me. His eyes go down and he doesn’t hide the fact he’s checking me out. “No. I’m going to go home and eat what Mom prepares.”

I nod.Persephone gets mad when he doesn’t eat what she makes.

Ozias reaches forward to touch my cheek. When his cold skin brushes against mine, I close my eyes.See you later, Devil. His voice bounces on the walls of my head. When I open my eyes, he’s gone, feeling his presence is now gone like a breeze. I let out the breath I didn’t know I was holding and shudder.

What is he doing to me?

The smell of bacon fills my nose when I get near the kitchen. Moving into the kitchen, I see Hazen with an apron on by the stove and Inarian leaning over the toaster.

My father looks up at me. “Asura! Good morning!” His eyes move down to my chest. “Are you okay?”

I touch my chest right above my tank top. I didn’t notice anything. What is he seeing?

Hazen glances over and his eyes widen.

“Looks like you got struck by li—” my father starts.
