“Wait. Declan told you, what?”

“Nothing.”

I put the binder in my toteand gathered the rest of my things.

“Quinci, don’t be like this,” she stated when I stood up.

“I’m not being like anything. I told you I get it.”

“So, why are you leaving?”

“Because I want to.”

Iwalked away from her, but then thought about something else I wanted to know, so I walked back over to the table.

“Did he know about this?”

“Would it change anything?”

“Actually, it’ll change a lot.”

“Yes, he knew.”

I chuckled. “Of course,he did.”

I walked away from her again. My mind was reelingfrom the fact that Dymon knew, and he let me get ambushed. The only reason I waspissedwas because Dymon came at me. It’s not like Isoughthis ass out. He paid for this pussy, and I was the one who got to sign all the NDA’s. Maybe I should make his ass sign one.

Yes, that’s what I’ll do…

Friday Night

It was a little after eleven, andMetri’swasliveand jam packedfrom the roof to the bottom. One thing I’ve learned since being here was that New York people partiedas soon as they got home from work.

I sat in a booth with Price, Fiona, Derek, and surprisingly,Justice. She probably didn’t let him out of her sight since she learnedthat I was here. Because I knew the Mom-to-behad plenty of questions after he was grabbing my hand. I wasn’t planning on goinganywhereuntil Fiona called me and told me that they were bar hopping, and this was a stop. So I threw on somethingand came down to join them.

“Take a short, shorty,” Price urged, handing me a shot of Tequila.

He sat near the wall with Fiona in the middle and Derek and Justice sitting across from us.I tapped he and Fiona’s glasses before throwing it back. My eyes squeezed shut because it burned all the way down.

“Whew!That shitburn.”

“So,Quinci, are you enjoying New York?” Justice askedme.

“Yeah. It’spretty cool. All this week, I’ve been going to different places. And the food everywhere I’ve been was so delicious. I’m sure I’ve gained at least, like, five pounds since I’ve been here.”

“In the ass,” Fiona blurted, while pouring two shots.

“Shut-up.”

She handed Price the shot glass.I wondered if she and Price were more than just boss and employee, but she didn’t say anything tome, and I wasn’t going to ask just yet.

“Whereyou been eating? I could hook you up with some places.”

“Some of everywhere. I really can’t name any of them off the top of my head, but please give me some places. I plan on eating some of everywhere. The one thing I hadn’t been is to some pizza places. That’s what I want to try.”

“Oh my God. Do you remember when you and Derek was in that pizza roll eating contest at City Day?” Fiona asked and laughed.
