Looking at Price, I raised my eyebrow. “What are you talking about?”
“Before I left work today, Fi told me to tell you to stop being mean to her girl. Apparently, Quinn texted her and told her that you were a Sour Patch Kid.”
I scoffedbefore pouring me another shot and throwing it back. Shaking my head, I said, “You don’t know the half.”
He nodded his head. “Yes, I do know the half. Fi showed me pictures of them, and I get it.”
“Would it be okay if y’all let your unemployed friend in on someshit? What’s going on? Who isFi’sfriend? And can I meet her?”
The weed and liquorweretaking over him.His eyes were red and low.
“Fuck no.”
He looked taken aback. “Why?”
Before I responded, a naked waitress walked up with her machineout.
“Can I get you boys another bottle, or something to drink or eat?”
“You, when you get a break,” Ryan stated.
She blushed. “Ten minutes, baby.Find me inback.”
I shook my head. “Let me get a glass of Hennessy,straight.”
“Got it. You?” She looked at Price, and he waved her off.
We all watched her thick ass as she walked away.
“Shit. I’m about to tear her ass up.”
I shook my head. Chokers was a cool place if you wanted fun and privacy.Naked women were everywhere. Some even walked on chains.Womenwere beingfuckedin every corner of the room. Men were getting sucked off. Whatever kink youhad,you could get it off behind the curtain.The room was hardly lit, so you barely saw people’s faces anyway unless you were up on them.The music was kept to a minimum playing nothing but R&B music, sincea good chunk of the members were Black.There werealsoseveral rooms in the back if you wanted a little more privacy.

Price sat up. “Our boy’s new assistant. Bad, thick, dark chick.Hella pretty.Corn bread-fed. Stallion. All the words you can use to describe country women, that’s her.”
“Goddamn, Danger. Youholdingout like that?”
“Nah, man. She only here for six months. Trialshit. Chill.”
And that was why Ineeded to keep Ryan’s ass from her. If I let him get near her, I’d never hear the end of it.
“Hmm.I see you getting all tight up in the jaws, so I won’t come to your office to check her out until you give me the go ahead.”
“Nah, chill.”
The waitress came and dropped my drink off, and grabbed Ryan up, walking him away from us.
I shook my head. “Yeah, I was lusting after her, but after what I found out about her, I’m good on her. Not trying to have a big scandal under me. Her and one of my exec board members used to have a thing back where they from. Shedon’teven know he works there yet.”
“Oh, yeah.Fi’scousin, Derek.Your life about to be a soap opera for the next six months, though. Hand me that.”
Handing him the blunt, I asked, “What youtalkingabout?”
“You know Fi is gossipy as hell, so she told me that Derek went home to check on his folks and to tell Quinn about the baby and engagement beforeshe finds out after people start getting the invitations.According to Fi, Derek is still in love with Quinn, and the only reason they ain’t together is because she ain’t want to move here. So…” He pulled on the blunt, inhaled, and exhaled slowly.“Nowthat she’s here, and he’s there, but he’s about to be back here, and youwant to hit, and he’s still in love, and you love alil’ competition.So, if one plus one equals two, and five plus five equals ten,yougonnahit Quinn, and all yougottasay is when.”
I stared athim blankly.
