The familiar tingle starts to spread all over me again, forcing me to open my eyes and face reality. I’m home, away from him. Once I shower and get settled, all will be forgotten.

I jump into the shower and allow the hot water to rain over me. But, as I stand here naked, my hands wander to my breasts. My nipples stand erect, sensitive with every touch and glide of the soap. I don’t understand why my body doesn’t calm itself down, given the intensity of tonight.

It’s almost like it wants more.

My thoughts are dangerous, so I turn the faucet to cold and let the water wash over me until I can’t handle the temperature.

Back in my room, I change into a tee and shorts. As I sit on my bed, I realize there’s nothing for me to do to occupy my mind. My paper is done, along with the reading required for next week’s classes. I guess I can stream something to watch, but I’m not really in the mood.

I should be tired, yet I’m wide awake.

My phone is beside me, so I pick it up and open my social media. I spend a few minutes scrolling aimlessly, but curiosity gets the better of me. Inside the search function, I type Masen’s name. Nothing comes up linked to him, just a few Mason Coopers with the spelling of the first name different.

Then, I decide to take it to the next step—I google him.

There are several images of him with random women, some even wearing bikinis. The photos are in nightclubs, beach clubs, and restaurants. A burning sensation spreads across my stomach, prompting me to stop looking at the images. The man is sexy—fact.

But I’ve just played with the player.

Cruz shouts through the apartment, arriving home after classes. He jumps on my bed to sit beside me, bumping my shoulder while I stare at the wall, fidgeting.

“What a fucking day,” he says, exasperated. “Coach grilled me about a few of my moves. Then he started talking about my out-of-state opportunities.”

My mind wanders again, the flashes ofhimbetween my legs with a tortured gaze.

“Why is everyone on my back? I’m over it,” Cruz complains furthermore.

The two fingers thrust inside of me.

“Addy, are you even listening to me? What’s up with you?”

“No… nothing’s up with me,” I stammer, breaking out of my daze. “Why would you think that?”

He shrugs his shoulders. “I don’t know. You’re acting weird.”

“I’m fine.”

“Okay then, so what do you want to eat tonight?”

“Eat?”

“Yeah, you know, food?”

I scratch the base of my neck. “I’m not hungry.”

“Then I guess I’ll just make a sandwich or something,” he mumbles.

“You’re not going out?”

“Don’t feel like it,” he mumbles, sliding his body down then turning to the side to face me. “I’d rather stay here with you.”

His body moves closer to mine, pressed up against my side, making my skin extra heated. I need to be alone, slightly annoyed he’s not out with some chick like he’d have been if he still lived on campus.

“I’m tired, Cruz. I’m pretty much going to crash now.”

“It’s eight in the evening?”

“Yeah, well, long day,” I tell him.
