Helen woke up again that morning and waited for the sinking feeling to hit: to have a flash of remembering that it was definitely over (not that ittechnicallyever began) with Brody, and that she was alone. Every day that went by since their last date, she expected to feel the dip of disappointment in her stomach, but the feeling never came. Instead she felt fine, just like herself. Maybe even better than ever.
