“I have you down for six tomorrow evening for a party of four. We’ll see you then. Thank you!” She hung up and wrote down the reservation.

“Sounds like you’re booked up.”

Brewer.Delphi’s pen paused on the reservation book. She glanced up and met his stunning blue eyes. What the hell is he doing here?Looking back down to finish up the note, she then flipped the page back to that day. “We are, actually. Are you here to pick up an online or phone order?”

He rested his hands on the edge of the table. Outfitted in all Macha gear, Brewer was even more breathtaking. His beard was smoothed and his red curls recently washed, if the scent of strawberry shampoo told her anything. She bit back a smile, thinking about the manly biker using fruity bath essentials.

“Not tonight. I hadn’t stopped by to see this place yet. Jupiter raves about it, so I thought I’d pop in and see what all the fuss is about.” He scanned the area. “It looks very nice. Not too upscale but fancy enough that you could have a birthday party or anniversary dinner here.”

“Thanks.” She shifted her weight, fully aware that the bachelorettes had their gazes pinned on Macha’s bartender. “I’m afraid I don’t have any open seatings tonight, but I can get you something to go.”

Brewer shook his head. “That’s okay. I’ll come by another time when you’re not so busy.”

He swiveled to walk away, and Delphi couldn’t help herself. “Brewer, wait.” She moved around the tall table and lowered her voice. “If you don’t mind sitting in the kitchen, Edgar makes a delicious beef bourguignon.”

“Well, that depends.” His gaze dipped to her lips, then back to her eyes. “Will you be there?”

The thought of spending more time with him made it nearly impossible to hide her smile. She quickly tamped down the desire she felt. Bikers were bad news. “I’ll be in and out, but I can visit with you for a few minutes.”

Brewer seemed to mull it over for a hot second before he grinned. “I’ll take what I can get.”

A tiny part of her jumped with glee. “Follow me.” She tossed a glance at the women waiting to be seated. Each one had audacious expressions on her face, eyes conveying their eagerness to lap up the gossip. It wouldn’t be the first time she’d been swayed by a biker. But this is different. I’m not a dumb kid.

Brewer followed closely, the heat of his body warming her. They passed through the double doors into the kitchen, and she led him to a small table and chair the staff used for breaks. “It isn’t much.”

He lightly touched her arm. “It’s great. Thanks, Delphi.”

The way he said her name sent delirious shivers down her spine. She didn’t know why she was being nice to him. The man was everything bad.And yet, I can’t stay away from him.

“Give me a minute. I need to seat a party, then I’ll be back.”

Brewer overtook the small space; his wide shoulders were bigger than she thought. “No worries. I’ll be here.”

Delphi offered him a small smile and headed toward the door, all the while feeling his hot gaze on her ass.Don’t give in so easily. He’ll only break your heart. She hoped she was wrong, but she knew better. Or at least she should know better by thirty-four years old.

CHAPTER7

BREWER

The trophy wifewannabes weren’t hard to peg the moment Brewer stepped into the small foyer. He’d come to see Delphi but unknowingly witnessed an exchange he couldn’t ignore. When the waitress left to get the bistro’s owner, he’d poked his nose around the front entry, finding the door to the kitchen, restrooms, and a coat closet. He waited until Delphi left to emerge from the restroom. It took a whole ten seconds before the woman she called Andrea made a move.

“You’re a Macha biker, right?” the woman purred, her eyes alight with lust.

“Last I checked.” He took a few steps away, but she followed him, as did all nine of her friends. If they ever stepped foot in the clubhouse, they’d jump on the first dick they saw. Club hoppers were what the bikers called that breed of women. It was a common term around the prospects since they looked for pussy wherever they could get it.

Andrea snuck her hand up his leather cut, the touch singeing him in the worst way. “It’s my bachelorette party tonight. We’re headed to Booze & Tattoos after this. Maybe you can meet us there and give us a private tour.”

Her friends nodded in agreement, and Brewer could smell the tequila lingering on Andrea’s breath. If he was in the mood, maybe he’d have said yes, but after he saw how this woman treated Delphi, there was no way in hell he’d lay a finger on the broad.

“Actually, I can’t tonight. If you’re heading to the bar, there are plenty of prospects and patched members who will take you up on that offer, though.” He stepped backward out of her grasp.

Anger flashed in her eyes. “Fine. You’re probably a shitty lay anyways.”

Not one to let any person—man or woman—get away with damaging his reputation, Brewer chuckled. “Honey, you couldn’t handle me.” He nodded at her friends. “None of you could.”

“A bit cocky, aren’t you?” Andrea moved in again. “I can work with that.”

Delphi’s high ponytail came into view, and an idea popped into his mind. “Look, lady, I’m sure you’re great and all, but I prefer my women with gumption and fire. Not groping the first man who catches her eye, even if it is her bachelorette party.”
