The blood drained from her face, and she felt her breakfast rise in her throat. She couldn’t go down that road again with Grant, but she needed to find out who her biological father was. She was on her way to the Cutthroat den where she’d face more than one beast. She only hoped she’d survive what would happen next.

CHAPTER37

BREWER

“This isn’tabout the goddamn election!” Brewer slammed his fists on the table. Every patched member went silent. “The Cutthroats took Delphi.”

“How do you know she didn’t want to go with them?” Hawk asked. “You said she used to date one.”

“Years ago,” he growled. “She was wearing a robe. I don’t think she wanted to go. They forced her.”

Reaper nodded. “I agree. It doesn’t sound like she had a choice. Rubble, what strategy will work best here?”

Rubble finished his sip of water. “We just wiped our asses with the Cutthroats, so they’re down several members.”

“Doesn’t that make them more dangerous?” Doc piped up.

“Most likely, yeah.” Rubble pulled out his phone and scanned it. “My contact at the Rusty Cantina said your girl’s there. We can’t crash into the place and turn it upside down, but we can go and try to settle this with minimal violence.”

“Fuck minimal violence.” Brewer shook his head. “Delphi doesn’t have a gun. She wasn’t trained to fight. She’s a chef.” His stomach turned at the thought of his woman being touched by another man, let alone a Cutthroat who had no decency whatsoever.

“Shovelhead isn’t her dad.” He held up the piece of paper Nikita gave to him moments before he hopped on his bike to meet Delphi. “I think one of the Cutthroats is, which is why they took her.”

“Delphi deserves to know who her father is,” Boulder added. “Thank the goddess it wasn’t Shovelhead.”

A round of grunts echoed in the room. He was grateful for that fact as well.

“Does Nikita know any of the dolls there?”

Kevlar sat up a little straighter. “Yeah, I think Kita still has a few contacts within the dollhouse. The women who stayed like having her as a resource.”

“Good. I think that’s the easiest way to infiltrate without causing too much attention.” He looked at Rubble. “What do you think?”

Rubble seemed to mull it over for a moment, then nodded. “I agree. The cantina can be a decoy.”

“Great. They’ve had Delphi for longer than I care to accept, so the sooner we’re there, the sooner she’s safe.” Brewer glanced at Reaper, who sat quietly in his spot at the head of the table. “With your permission, of course.”

Reaper held up his palms. “The club will vote.”

A chorus of “Ayes” met Brewer’s ears, and he felt a sudden bubbling in his stomach. He should’ve known the Cutthroats were at the helm of this all. Shovelhead warned them that a club would come for him, but clearly the man wasn’t as significant as he thought himself to be. Delphi was ten times more important to everyone involved, but especially to Brewer. She could bake madeleines like a pro, but she couldn’t handle a room full of bikers who didn’t give a shit about her safety. He’d save her or die trying.

CHAPTER38

DELPHI

“You’ve gotto be kidding me.” Delphi held up the slinky see-through shirt and the skirt short enough to show off every asset from the waist down. The pair of flip-flops was better than nothing but not optimal for a rainy day.

Granite shook his head. “Put it on. Daddy wants to meet you.”

“Looking like a whore?”

“Nah, that’s how I want you. He doesn’t care.” Granite clicked the safety on his gun, then shoved it into the small of his back.

“Are you going to watch me change?”

“Yep.”

Delphi flipped him her middle finger, then turned around and shed her robe and silk pajamas. She held her breath when Granite reached over and grabbed a handful of her ass before she could pull the skirt on. Once the low-cut shirt was in place, she turned around to face him. “Done.”
