At this exact moment, Busy runs up to Nora and me.

“Can Coach Nora come over for dinner tonight?” she asks.

It’s a really innocent question.

But it makes me nervous.

I don’t even look at Nora before I say, “I’m sure Coach Nora has better things to do than make homemade pizza with us.”

“Homemade pizza?” Nora asks, sounding interested.

I look at her.

There’s no way this woman is going to come over to our house.

Right?

“See? She wants pizza,” Busy says.

Thunder roars overhead.

There’s a storm coming.

So whatever is about to happen, it needs to happen quickly.

“Luckily for us, it seems like my next couple practices are about to get rained out,” Nora says.

I smile at Nora. “Then, we would love to have you for dinner.”

Nora smiles back at me. “That would be great. Let me go check and make sure everything is really canceled and I will meet you at your house?”

I nod, scared and excited all at the same time.

“Yes, let me give you our address,” I tell her.

She hands me her phone and I shakily type in my home address.

This is happening.

This isreallyhappening.

“Thanks,” Nora says. “I will see you both soon.”

I usher Busy back to the van.

And pray my house is clean.

Chapter Four

Nora

This was… unexpected.

Judah is gorgeous. That’s the problem. I acted like a totally insane version of myself the second I got close to him.

I flirted. I never flirt. At least not that blatantly. I tend to be the kind of woman who harbors a long, unrequited crush on someone who never even realizes it.

Basically, those someones have all been my brother’s friends.
