“You here for Griffin, too?”

I look over to see the question is coming out of the mouth of the most beautiful woman in the world.

Her blonde hair spills over her shoulders and her lips purse around the edge of her glass. She wears dark eyeshadow. And I have no idea where this girl just came from.

“Yeah,” I tell her. “You?”

“Yes,” she tells me, the nods at my beer that the bartender slides over to me. “Don’t you think you need something a little stronger?”

Whoever this woman is, she clearly has a good grasp on Griffin’s personality.

I laugh and turn toward her. “You make a good point.”

I order two tequila shots from the bartender.

“I hope those are both for you,” she tells me with a smirk, but when the bartender serves them, she reaches for the one closest to her.

She accepts my invitation.

“You said I should go for something stronger,” I tell her.

She laughs. “Yes,you… not me.”

“Bottoms up,” I tell her, shooting the tequila.

She follows suit.

The way she slips that lime into her mouth is incredibly sexy.

I’m starting to think I may not have such a horrible night after all.

I feel a hard slap against my back and turn to see Griffin’s cheesy smile glaring in my face.

Never mind.

“Homie,” he says to me. “You’re not even here five minutes and you’re already corrupting my baby sister? Bold, dude. Very bold.”

I turn to the girl, feeling the color drain from my face.

How is it possible for a woman as cool as this one to be related toGriffin?

What kind of messed-up gene pool is this?

She crosses over me to give her brother a hug. “Happy birthday, big brother.”

“Too kind of you to remember,” he says obnoxiously.

She pulls away from the hug and rolls her eyes at him. “Okay, I forgot one time. When I wasseven. You’re going to hold that against me forever aren’t you?”

“I plan on it,” he tells her, then ducks away to the rest of his birthday crowd.

She looks at me with a guilty-as-charged kind of look.

I shake my head and just say, “Wow.”

“I know,” she says, shrugging her shoulders. “The resemblance is uncanny, right?”

“Hardly my first thought,” I tell her. “I’m just glad I found out before I took another shot with you.”
