She decided wherever she was headed, Darius was a better bet than any other creature out looking for her.
She already decided he wasn’t using her for her abilities. She had offered to tell him his future and he declined. If he didn’t want to use her for her soothsayer abilities, that meant his intention really was to protect her.

“One second!” She called back to him knowing very well it hadn’t been five minutes yet. Eva was many things, an over packer wasnotone of them. Sure, she spent most of the money she made, but she didn’t spend it on materialistic things.Margarita me up, baby!
She threw the first clothes she could find laying around her room into her bag, not caring to see if anything matched. She picked sweatpants over jeans. If she was going to be traveling, she would much rather be comfortable than look attractive. Besides, she wanted this man to notwant her after everything was said and done.

As she zipped up her navy-blue backpack that she bought back in the nineties, she called to Darius, “You sure you’re up for the challenge of keeping me safe? It seems like I’m averyhot commodity.”
“No doubt,” he groaned. “That’s why we need to leave.Now.”
Eva hiked the backpack over her shoulder and walked into her apartment’s main room - a living room, dining room, and kitchen all in one. Granted, there was no room for a dining room table and the space was so tight her living room couch ran over the kitchen’s tiled floor.
It was better than nothing.
Sure, her life was a bit miserable at the moment. That didn’t stop her from hoping it would one day get better.

“Done,” she shot him an obnoxious grin. He stood near the front door looking incredibly irritable.
Pissed. Definitely pissed.
“Lighten up, will you?”
“When we’re out of Miami. Maybe.”
Eva’s eyes narrowed. “For some reason I doubt that. I have a feeling you’re not a man to lighten up.Ever.”She didn’t think she could begin trying to imagine what he would look like if he smiled.
No response from him. Instead, he made a move to open the front door. “Ready?”
“Maybe.”
If it was possible for his frown to deepen, it somehow did.
“Kidding,” she shot him a beaming smile, enjoying how much he seemed to already despise her. If she kept this up, he’d let her run free in no time. “Where are we going, anyway?” She realized she had absolutely no idea where he was taking her. She only knew they were leaving Miami.
“Romania.”
“Romania?” She asked, trying to hide her excitement. Eva might be close to two-hundred years old, but she was far from a seasoned traveler. Norway, Miami, and the brisk Atlantic Ocean were the only places she had ever been in her extended life.
