“If I catch you, you’re going to be on your fucking knees, Andre. Don’t think that you’re going to use your lust against me. I have the same lust power as you. In more ways than you realize, except I can control mine.” Lucian’s voice echoes through the air from behind us.

“You better not be saying what I think you’re saying,” I call out. Because damn. It’s already a marathon sleeping with Andre because he just can’t help himself, and his cock engorges itself and doesn’t let me go until he’s had his fill of my desire.

“You’re going to find out very fucking soon, Raven.” A burst of fire sparkles against the wall next to the door leading to the kitchen. Lucian laughs from behind us, and my whole body buzzes with sudden lust.

Ah, Hell. Lucian is setting Andre off. I bet he’s doing it on purpose. Once Andre gets started, it’s difficult for him to stop, and he is willing to switch into a more submissive position just to participate and get his hunger for lust and desire in control.

“Keep it together, Andre. Your fucking pheromones are starting to turn me on. If they turn me on, you know that the whole place will be affected. Do you really want to start an orgy here? I mean, look around. It’s like Hell. It’s not a good show.” I wiggle and pat his chest. “Just let me down and go splash some cold water or something on your face.”

Andre listens to me and sets me down, rubbing himself through his pants. “I’m sorry, little hellion. I’m just...”

“You don’t have to explain anything. Just go into the bathroom for a second. I’ll meet you in there.” I give him a soft kiss and turn around, bracing myself for Lucian to lunge at me. But he stands twenty feet away and just stares at me and Andre. He’s not stupid. I bet he realizes what he’s done. For the first time ever, he doesn’t push the boundaries. He only likes to do it with me and not with the other devils. Maybe it’s an unsaid rule or something, but I appreciate it.

“Andre, your boyfriend is here. Can you sense him? I think he’s out back.” Lucian’s words snap me out of my thoughts. I guess I was wrong as to why he stopped chasing us. Maybe he wasn’t certain if Andre would try to take me out back or something.

“Take Raven to one of the booths. I’ll go scare him away,” Andre says, nudging me toward Lucian.

I shake my head. “No, just leave him out there. It drives him crazy if we don’t pay him any attention. You know this.”

Glass shatters, drawing my attention away from Andre, and I spot Gia at the bar, smashing another glass over a man’s head. “Get out of my bar before you end up in pieces, you fucking bastard. I can see you holding this human hostage from a mile away. You don’t belong in this realm anymore. Leave. That guy’s soul is mine.”

My chest tightens at her words. The guy is not a demon. But he’s not an angel either. I can’t see what she’s talking about, but it’s not the first time I’ve encountered a ghost possessing someone. A fucking ghost possessed me. I can’t help feeling uneasy just seeing how he sits there cupping a glass between his hands.

“You heard the boss,” Tamia says, popping her head up from behind the bar. “Don’t make me escort you out. You won’t have a body to hold onto. Exorcisms are my specialty.”

“Oh, God,” I whisper, regretting my words immediately.

I swear every demon in the bar looks at me as if I just tried to summon the angelic army even though I was just shocked at seeing Tamia in this realm again. The man at the bar takes the opportunity to leave without fighting, and I watch him go.

He hovers in the doorway for just a second, his eyes meeting mine, and a wave of hurt crashes over me.

“Ray? Oh shit. You’re here.” Tamia swipes the shards of glass left on the counter from Gia and collects them into a bar towel. She drops them in the trash and rushes out from behind the bar and toward me. “Lucian, you didn’t tell me you were bringing her by.”

I raise my hands, getting her to stop. “Please give me space. Don’t touch me.”

Tamia’s face falls as if my rejection hurts her on a deep level. I wish I could pretend that she didn’t shoot Elias, but I can’t. And I grow emotional by the second. I want to yell at her. I want to scream. The last thing I want to do is to step into her arms for a hug.

Lucian steps between us and blocks my view of Tamia. I flick in between his shoulder blades because he intercepted me and stopped me from getting riled up. It’s like he knew I was going to start shit.

“Give Raven a moment,” Lucian says, reaching behind him to try to snatch my fingers to stop me from flicking him again. “It’s been a rough morning for us. She found out that Elias impregnated her. So, you can understand why she’s upset, all things considered.”

This time, I whack him with my open palm upside the head. I can’t believe he just told her that. No one should know unless I tell them. The last thing I need is for word to spread among the demons too.

Tamia gasps and leans over to peer at me from in front of Lucian. “What? Are you serious? I don’t understand.”

My anger gets the best of me and I shove Lucian in the side to confront my cousin. Heat burns over my skin with my fury.

“How can you not fucking understand? Elias and I had unprotected sex, and my birth control failed.” I huff a breath, clenching my fingers, stabbing my nails into my palms. “What’s worse is that you fucking killed him. You let an angel possess you and ruined everything. He would be on his throne and a king in Hell if it weren’t for you. You had no right to do what you did. Why did you even do it?”

Tamia doesn’t respond to me and instead looks to Lucian like she expects him to answer for her. It only pisses me off even more.

“Tell me. Give me a reason why I shouldn’t demand that Lucian throw you back down into Hell to suffer in the pits for what you’ve done. Because what I see is him doing me a favor, and one I didn’t ask for.” My vision darkens as a hostile, intoxicating feeling courses through me. It’s the same feeling that I had punishing souls in Micah’s kingdom.

Tamia takes a couple of steps back, and her human figure starts to morph. And unholy fucking Hell. The once beautiful woman that I knew turns into a demon before my eyes. It solidifies the fact that she is no longer my relative. She is in fact a servant of Hell.

I refuse to turn my eyes away from her and study her new features. A dainty crown of horns protrudes from her forehead. The sharp points look as if they are dipped in blood. Glowing veins twine around her neck and travel down her arms and wrap around her wrist. Two-inch-long claws cut through her fingertips, and I notice an unsettling tint to her skin as if she might glow in the dark. It’s greenish yet neon.

Parting her lips with her grimace, Tamia flashes a double set of fangs. I try not to react to her change in appearance, but I can’t help it. A part of me fears her now. An even bigger part regrets my actions. She didn’t choose this. She’s in this position because of me. The angels would have never gone after her if she wasn’t my cousin. But still, I need to know why.
