Reaching out, I grab the front of Knox’s shirt, surprising him. I bow toward him and smile at the change in his expression. I need to do something to distract him. If they know I’m acting, Alexander will think I’ve failed. He put the responsibility into my hands to make these guys happy.

“Master Aris does it to protect us. Like I said, he cares and makes sure we aren’t forced to do anything we don’t want to.” Bringing my mouth to his ear, I add, “Plus, he’s watching. So please. Give me what I want. Let me care for you.”

Like my closeness triggers his deep-seated desire, he tugs me from Sawyer’s lap and kisses me, reminding me of our strange and exciting moment backstage after he stopped the asshole from running away with me.

My body reacts at his closeness, the memory of his blood coursing through me turning me on. It usually takes a lot to get my body to react, my mind always guarded because I know what kind of predators I’m dealing with, but this time? The attraction is real. It’s exciting.

Fuck. It’s dangerous.

I pull away, my wild heart racing. Shoving my hands to Knox’s chest, I push myself away and flip, landing on my feet.

He gets up, standing over me. “Ruby, I—”

“Is there a problem, baby doll?” Alexander’s voice cuts through the room, startling me.

I shake my head. “No, Master Aris. I was just—”

“About to give these gentlemen exactly what they want?” he asks, his stern expression as sharp as the lash of his words.

Swallowing, I bob my head. “Yes, sir. I was only trying to figure out how to properly care for three. They all want something from me.”

Alexander narrows his eyes. “Remember, only two bites.”

“I know, sir. I will still ensure your guests are taken care of.” My voice barely comes out a whisper.

“That’s not necessary.” Knox clenches and unclenches his hands.

“Do you not want her?” Alexander asks, stepping forward, his fangs peeking from beneath his top lip. “Has she been unsatisfactory? If that’s the case, I will remove her immediately and bring in someone up to your standards.”

I suck in a small breath. Alexander doesn’t take rejection lightly. He prides himself on having the best of the best girls around, and if someone denies a moment with me? God, this hasn’t happened before.

Now I’m scared.

Fuck.

Sawyer growls and stands up, his muscles bulging as he flexes. “She’s perfect. Exceptional. Don’t mistake this asshole’s shortcomings and shyness on the donor.”

Tipping his head back, Alexander howls a laugh. “Fuck. You hear that, baby doll? Show the bastard there is no reason to be shy with you. Show him exactly what a gift it is to be a guest at the Aris Hotel.”

I force myself to smile. “Yes, sir. I’d be happy to.”

Turning my back away from Alexander, I face Knox. His eyes search mine, his chest heaving. I stand on my tiptoes and brush my lips to his ear. “Please, let me do this. Please.”

“But I don’t want you to be forced into this by fear. I can tell you’re only doing it for him.” His whisper tickles my ear, and I’m afraid Alexander heard his comment. But if he had, he doesn’t react.

I meet his gaze and smile, hoping he believes me. “I want to, handsome. I told you already. You’re my hero.”

He doesn’t argue, and I lean in to kiss him.

“Thank you,” I whisper, offering another smile.

Slowly swaying my hips, I dance my way to the floor and get on my knees. I hate that Alexander watches me from behind. I can feel his gaze on me. I always knew he was a monster, but I thought there were bigger monsters outside our hotel.

Now? I’m not so sure.

Maybe I shouldn’t be so afraid of the world on the Strip. Maybe there is a life outside being one of the Aris Hotel’s showgirls.

Who am I kidding? This is my life. I’ll never be free.
