I stop short, turning away from Theodore. I could try to attack him and end up beside Ravi, but that’s not what I want. I need to get Ravi and Slater not to take him up on this deal. I need Theodore to do this shit in my favor. If he doesn’t have the option of the other alphas, he’ll have to give in to Chase. If he does, things will be easier.

Rushing Ravi, I hop on top of him and slam my paws to his chest. My body awakens at his closeness, and I transform back into a human. My muscles ache from the constant back-and-forth, and I feel warmth between my legs. I regret tackling him immediately. Something about his body beneath mine sets me off, and his intoxicating scent makes me gasp.

I bow down and crash my mouth to his, surprising him with a kiss. His hands wrap around my hips, and he digs his thumbs against my bone, the sensation sending a wave of pleasure right to my clit. My mind fogs with lust, and he kisses me deeper, gliding his tongue over mine, easing me lower and lower down his pelvis until his hard cock smacks against my ass as he flexes it.

“Get her!” Chase shouts, trying to get closer. It’s now that I realize Theodore entraps us in a magical pen, not allowing anyone near.

Am I about to fuck Ravi in front of everyone? My body says hell yeah. So does my mind. It’s as if my modesty and shame vanish, because all I can think about is how good it’s going to feel. How he will help with the ache constantly rolling through me. And the thought of doing it in front of the others? So damn hot. I want them to help out. I want to have a moment like I had with Kellan and Tristan. There’s enough of me to go around. I’m strong enough to handle all of the guys I’ve claimed. My wolf wouldn’t have done so otherwise.

“Ravi! Control yourself! If you do this, you will not survive finding out if your seed takes.” Slater growls with his words, but his voice does nothing to keep my attention. Only Ravi’s rippling body does.

“Come on, little badass. Save this for another time. I know you don’t like the idea of strings. Do you really want to be stuck to this asshole? You know he won’t leave Shadow Moon. We can’t raise our baby here. It’ll be human. Humans can only stay on the savage part of the island and away from the territories. Kellan told me. We can’t have that happen.” Adam’s pleas manage to stab a moment of clarity into me. He’s right. Humans aren’t welcome in this world, and it’s why they are bitten and changed and left on the island. They can’t access gateways or anything like the lykoswulves can. And I’m not living on the island, especially since the council is forcing the packs to bring more people. I refuse to have that sort of life. I’m not a wild wolf. I am tame. I am human.

Groaning, I break away from Ravi, meeting his gaze. He stretches up and presses his lips to mine, his own wolf need taking over. “Ravi, please. You have to stop. You have to pull yourself away. I can’t do it myself.”

He growls with my words, his eyes flashing gold. His jaw twitches and his muscles ripple. Rolling me over, he gets on top of me, pressing his hands on each side of my head to keep his weight off me. His cock rest against my pelvis. It pulses as he flexes it, breathing heavily.

“Fight me. You have to. I can’t think of anything else. I know you don’t want this, but I don’t have restraint. I want you too badly. I want a future with you.” Ravi stretches his neck, trying to get himself to get off.

“Please. You are supposed to be the strong one. My body hurts too badly.” I whimper as the sensation continues to roll through me, my muscles and insides feeling as if I’ll die if someone doesn’t relieve the intensity clinging to me.

“I’m only strong because of you. Omegas give their alpha’s strength. And you’ve already bowed. You need to truly reject me.” Ravi huffs with his deep breathing.

Truly reject him? I remember he once told me that an alpha couldn’t procreate with an omega if she didn’t allow it. It’s probably why the council triggered this supposed heat. The lust and the pain, the need, it makes me more valuable. More receptive. It steals a piece of my humanity away, forcing me to give in to the innate nature of my wolf. To her desire to breed. To be taken care of.

So why is it so hard for me to reject him now? My wolf truly wants him. She knows what he’s capable of, and how powerful he can be with me by his side.

“Do it. Push me off. Reject me.” Ravi’s words remain low, his whole body trembling.

I open and close my mouth, trying to think of the words to say, but nothing comes out.

So I give up. I don’t even bother.

But this isn’t over. I don’t have to reject him. I have to reject my wolf’s needs. I need to take control of myself and my humanity. It’s the only way to get my life back. I will not bow to the power the council has over us. I won’t.

Reaching between us, I flick my fingers as hard as I can against Ravi’s cock, making him yell out in pain. Swinging my arm, a punch him in the throat and use all of my strength to roll him off me. Ravi growls and flexes his muscles, turning into a wolf beneath me. It triggers my own nature, but it’s not to submit. My wolf decides to overpower him, and I pin him down and bite onto his neck.

“I won’t reject you, but I’m not accepting you either. Not until you prove yourself. No more manipulating me. No more keeping answers from me.” I think the words to him, biting harder and keeping him pinned. “You must follow me into the human world. If you do those things, you can remain by my side with the others. But you cannot be my alpha. Not yet. I’m not letting anyone influence my wolf. And you shouldn’t either. Do this for our pack. Not Sunset Pointe, but our pack. My pack.”

Ravi’s body slackens beneath mine and he stops fighting. He gives in to my command and exposes his stomach to me in submission. But it’s not a power-play. It’s something more.

“I’m sorry, Eliana. My whole life has been a power struggle. I don’t want that for our future. I want you. I want to be your alpha. But I also want more. Because of that, I’m bowing to you now. I’m relenting to your needs as an omega.” Ravi stretches his body and transforms back into a man. He manages to slide me off him and gets to his feet putting space between us.

Silence blankets the world around us, and I remain in my wolf form, trying to gather my nerve to look up. I’m afraid. Something in the world has shifted.

“You are unlike anything I have ever seen before, my pet. I will accept the half-breed’s territory, but I will also need something else. Perhaps some of your strength.” Theodore steps closer, his power vanishing. He extends his hand out to me. “Let me have some of your strength, and I will make it possible for you to leave Shadow Moon. It’ll be up to you to stay in the human world, though. I’m sure the council will send someone to try and fetch you. Are you willing to take the chance like your grandmother?”

I dart my gaze to the others, silently staring at me. No one argues. No one speaks up. They want me to make the final decision.

He wants my strength. What does he mean by that? I don’t really care. I just want off the island. I want to be free of these savage packs and the threat of the council. I just want to have a quiet future, dealing with the aftermath and the gifts given to me by the situation. I want to learn to live and to thrive without fear. Giving up some of my strength? That’s worth it to me.

I slowly nod my head and hold my hand out to him. Lacing his fingers around mine, Theodore shoots magic through me, sending my hair floating with static. He lifts me to my feet, steadying me in place, and I watch as the haze rushes around me only to split off to flow toward the others. Magic hums in the air, and my body ripples as my wolf struggles to break free. She wants to reject it. She makes me want to run.

But I’m not controlled by her. I’m not my beast.

The world around us morphs, and we stand on the sand, staring at the glittering turquoise ocean.

“You will all be able to pass through the gateway. But hurry. It won’t last forever.” Theodore smiles, his eyes flashing red. “Keep in mind that the magic bestowed on you by the council also won’t just vanish. I can suppress it for a few hours, but you will have to learn to deal or give in to the need. I will visit you on the day of the next full moon. Don’t resist my call. We will settle your debts then.”
