Eliana gasps and cries out. “Kellan, no. Don’t do this. It’s your—”
“It means nothing to me without you. You’re my soulmate. I’ll never leave you. I promised you that.” Kellan shuffles closer, testing Chase, seeing how he reacts. “Let me do this. You made it clear that you don’t want to be here.”
“Twilight Cove isn’t yours to give yet, so no. It must be someone else.” Theodore keeps his gaze locked on mine.
I can’t do it. I won’t give my territory to him. My pack is my family. It is my duty to protect them.
“What if I can give you Blackshell?” Ravi crosses his arms over his chest. “They betrayed us. I’ll have it for you by dawn.”
He must be kidding. If Theodore takes the deal, I’ll lose my chance to Eliana forever. But I don’t know what else to do. I will not give up my own territory. And I know that neither will he.
Theodore grins. “I acce—”
“No! Wait. Don’t accept his offer. I will give you a territory.” Chase clenches his jaw.
I frown, knitting my brows, trying to dig into his head to see his plan. Because he doesn’t have a territory. The only way he would have one is if he took it from Ravi.
“You’ll be a dead man, Chase.” Ravi fists his hands, having the same thought as me.
“Shut up, asshole. You haven’t even heard him out.” Sloan speaks up for the first time, her petite frame managing to take up more space as she squares her shoulders. Turning to Chase, she drops to her knees and bows forward. “I submit to you as my alpha and my companion of the Sea Glimmer territory. Together, it is ours to do as we see fit.”
Eliana gasps and covers her mouth. “Sloan.”
“I told you I was coming with you. The territory is mine as long as I take a male alpha to rule by my side. That’s what I’m doing. Chase can’t create through his bite, but he can procreate. He already has an heir coming. You are destined to be his omega.” Sloan smiles. “So that is our offer. Our pack is ruthless, but they have no one to lead them. If you help us all get off this island, the territory is yours.”
I blink a few times, trying to wrap my mind around it. Fuck. How is this happening? How is Eliana still leaving me?
Theodore flicks his attention from Chase to Sloan and finally to Eliana.
My chest tightens in anticipation. My ideal future is about to be ripped from me with one single agreement.
Silence fills the air.
Theodore surprises me and shakes his head, pointing at me. “No. No deal. It must be one of them.”
Eliana screams out. “You fucker!”
She turns wild.
Chapter twenty-six
Eliana
Savage Wolves
I’veneverwantedtomurder someone as much as I do now. My body zings with pain as my muscles contort and fight against whatever magic Theodore thrusts at me, trying to keep me human. But he can’t stop me. I won’t let him. Dodging out of the way, I avoid his blast of power and scramble on my paws, clawing at the ground to keep my footing. I’ll bite his face off. His hands. I’ll ensure he can’t use magic ever again.
“Princess, stop.” Ravi’s voice shoots through my mind, sending my vision shadowing. “You can’t possibly hate me that much to reject me. Let me handle this for you. I’ll take out Isaac and we can focus on our future. I promise to be everything you need in an alpha.”
His words trigger something warm inside me, my wolf loving the idea of him taking care of me. But my human rationale knows he’s an asshole and a manipulator despite how attractive he is. Sure, he has a softer side, but he never shows it. And the fact that he has an ulterior motive doesn’t help. He plans to do this not so I can leave the island to raise my children. He’s only doing this to help himself. He wants to knock me up. He wants to keep me as his little omega.
He’s not doing any of it for me.
It makes it easier to ignore him and jump at Theodore. The mage holds his palms up, gathering more of his twisted power between his fingers. I know he can hurt me. I know he can cast some spell that sends me into a void or some shit, but I have to try. He is not negotiating with them over me. I can’t allow it. He should’ve just taken Chase’s deal. Why he doesn’t confuses me. It means something else is up. He wouldn’t be determined to make it with Ravi or Slater if something wasn’t up. He needs them or their territory or something. I just wish I knew. If I had more answers, I could better prepare myself. Because I know that one of two things will happen. Either Theodore will relent and give me what I want, or he will force me to do as he desires. I’m basically screwed. And not the good kind. If he gets the territory, and either Slater or Ravi get me, they might prevent me from ever leaving. They might use their bond on me to manipulate me to stay.
I must go. I must do this for myself and for my babies. I can’t raise them on Shadow Moon. I just can’t.
“Don’t hurt her!” Ravi shouts, charging at Theodore and getting in the way. Magic shocks him, lighting his body aglow, and he drops to his knees.
