“No.”

I stomped down the two small steps beside the couch that led to the bar in the alcove behind. I couldn’t resist shooting Logan a glare, and he didn’t miss it, either. I leaned against the polished white bar and waited while the bartender served another patron. Logan stood at the bar, too, on the other side of the other patron. I glanced at him. He was trying to play it cool, but I could see he was as affected at seeing me as I was by him.

I balled my hands into fists.

We glanced at one another again.

With a huff, I pushed off the bar and headed towards the restrooms. I didn’t make it to the ladies. Before I even reached the door, strong arms wrapped around me and dragged me up against the opposite wall. At first, I wanted to throw a tantrum and fight and curse, but then I laid eyes on him.

Logan’s brown eyes crinkled at the corners as he studied me, as though he wanted to be certain it was really me. His body pressed into mine as his hand slowly ran down the side of my face and he pressed his thumb against my bottom lip. He licked his lips as a shaky breath huffed out of me.

“Lo—”

Before his name could be uttered, he was kissing me. His lips pressed harshly against mine and his tongue dominated mine. With a moan, I gladly gave myself over to him. My hands roamed over his body, reminding me of how every inch of him felt, of how it felt to hold him, to have him inside me and surrounding me.

Completing me.

Because after all these weeks apart, I finally felt complete again.

“Aria,” Logan murmured against my lips.

I sighed into him and kissed him again. I couldn’t get enough of him. I would mould myself to him forever if I could.

His hands cupped my arse and he lifted me slightly. I hooked my leg around his waist and felt his hardness press against my core and we both moaned.

Logan fought to control himself. “What are you doing here?”

“I could ask you the same thing,” I countered.

He gritted his teeth. “You shouldn’t be here.”

I felt my anger simmer in the base of my stomach again. “I’m here for Lily’s birthday.” The accusation was on the tip of my tongue. I shouldn’t have asked, but I couldn’t resist. “Why, did I drag you away from your women?”

“They’re not my women.”

“You could have fooled me.”

His stare bored into me. Logan held my face between his hands. “You’remy woman. That’s the problem.”

His words cut through me, deep to my soul.

I was a problem?

“Malik! Where you at, bro?”

Logan growled in frustration. “Go home, Aria.”

“But—”

“No buts!” he hissed. “Don’t come back here. Stay the hell out of Harlem.”

Logan released me with a shake and stepped away from me. His eyes were harsh and unforgiving as he turned and walked away without so much as a backwards glance. Tears streamed down my face and I slid down the wall to the floor.

That wasn’t my Logan. Surely, he didn’t mean what he said. Surely, he was faking and it had something to do with whatever Cole Security had him involved in.

When his gaze shot through my memory, there was no trace of the man I’d met at Virginia Beach, and it ruined me.

Where was the man who’d said he loved me?
