Page 10 of Desiring Them

“Have you got a thing for princes?”

I’d never thought about it before. “Perhaps I do.”

“You know I’m distantly related to them?” Augustus lifted his nose into the air. “Not all viscounts are, of course. But my family? We come from Victoria’s line.”

My eyes grew wide. “QueenVictoria?”

Augustus pointed at the statue of the nineteenth-century queen as we drove past the fountain dedicated to her. “She’s my great aunt three times over.”

I couldn’t seem to lift my mouth from my lap. I’d spent the last two weeks flirting and arguing with proper royalty. I arched an eyebrow at him. “Should I bow down at your feet?”

“Oh, how I wish you would.”He was using the voice again. The one that turned me on so easily, and Aug knew his effect on me.

Turning away to stare out my window again, I distracted myself with the beautiful palace we were driving around, figuring I was only feeling this way because I was missing Ruben. I was truly sad he wouldn’t be here for Christmas.

Would I be all alone in a new country for the holiday, holed up in my teeny tiny Tottenham apartment?

Augustus waved his hand at Kensington Palace. “I know it’s pretty, but my place is prettier and much more modern.”

“It’s also full of whores.” I wasn’t sure why I was getting annoyed. It was none of my business what he did to relax.

“No whores, hotness. They all sleep with me for free. It’s entirely consensual. The only goods exchanged are food and wine.”

“Let’s not forget bodily fluids,” I quipped.

“Hopefully, not too many of those, considering I’m strict about using protection.” Augustus turned the wheel and pulled the car to a stop near some kind of old, square pavilion, where Linda and the photographer were setting up the equipment ahead of us. “Here we are, then.”

When Linda spotted us approaching, she waved us over and pointed past the pavilion. “Over to hair and makeup, please, Lord Huntington.”

Augustus followed Linda to a canvas and wood folding chair. No sooner was he sitting down than the makeup artist was on him, dusting her brush over his face while another young woman fussed with his hair.

“Bea, assist Kai, please.”

“On it.” The middle-aged woman’s dark curls bobbed as she nodded her head.

“Sienna, help Augustus get into the first outfit, please.”

I froze. My mouth dropped open. “By help, you mean…”

“Help him in the dressing room and make sure it presents perfectly.” Linda pinned me with her sharp gaze. “Unless there’s an issue between you two?”

“Nope, none at all.” I picked up the clothing bag marked number one, carried it to the small tent, and stepped inside.

Hanging the garment bag on the clothing rack, I unzipped it to find a stunning blue suit with a striking red tie inside. I ran my hand over the fabric and discovered it was wool, the pattern, dogtooth tweed. I always imagined tweed to look stuffy and pompous. This was fresh, new, and dare I say, hip.

“Right, get me naked, Sienna.”

I turned around with a gasp and found Augustus already slipping out of his blazer. I tugged him into the canvas cubicle and zipped up the door. “I highly doubt the royals want to see your naked butt from their bedroom window.”

“The Duchess of Cambridge will be missing out.” Aug winked at me.

“Oh, please.” I rolled my eyes. “She has Prince William. Why on earth would she need you?”

Augustus discarded his shirt and flashed the cheeky smile of his. “Do you know how utterly stiff Will is? I don’t mean where it matters.”

“He is not.” I held up the starched white dress shirt.

Augustus pushed his arms into it, then undid his pants. “He’s as stiff as a wind-blown tree on the edge of a crag in the Scottish Highlands. I’m positive he schedules sex with his wife.”
