“I doubt that.” I shook my head. “I’m nothing like those other women on the list. It was fun for a day, but from what I’ve seen of it so far, I like this side of the business more.”

“I see. It’s understandable. I mean, it’s great when your hard work comes together.” Linda rested her palms atop her laptop. “You do understand that for this campaign, though, you will have to do some press. You posed for one of the best-known, high-end fashion lines in the world with a model who’s famous all over the UK. They will want a piece of you, and you have a duty to the company.”

“You’re right. I’m happy to do whatever I need to do for the success of this season’s line.” I gripped my notebook in both hands. “Do you still want my help with the gala?”Please say yes, please say yes.

I wanted to be a part of something worthwhile and beneficial. The gala was such a thing. It was the largest event on the Estate Styles’calendar. It took place on Christmas Eve and included a fashion show of the latest styles and a sneak peek of the coming season, and every last dime earned on the night was donated to a worthy charity. This year, fingers crossed, I would be a part of finding a charity and making sure it was all smooth sailing, and I knew it would look fantastic on my resume as long as I was included.

“Of course. You will be part of my team to make it happen.”

I breathed a sigh of relief. “Thank you, Linda. I’m looking forward to being a part of the events team on this.”

“Ah, good. There’s the enthusiasm I’ve been looking for.”

I laughed when she jabbed a finger in my direction.

“I hope you can handle a couple of projects because I have another one for you.”

“I’ll do my best to fit both in. What do you want me to do?” I poised my pen over the notepad, ready to jot notes down at any moment.

“You’ve been personally requested to be an assistant to one of our models.” Linda twisted up her mouth.

I narrowed my eyes. “Oh, I have, have I?”

“I suppose you can guess who it is.”

I drew my mouth into a thin line. “It’s not too far of a stretch of the imagination.”

“Are you okay with this? Because I can tell Lord Huntington to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine and assign someone else.”

“No, you can’t. I’ll be fine. I’m sure I can handle him.” Truth be told, I was glad I didn’t have to say goodbye to Augustus so soon. But I knew I was being drawn back into temptation. The chemistry between Aug and me was off the charts.

“I don’t think anyone can handle the charming bastard,” Linda mumbled.

I snickered because I understood exactly what she meant. But damn if I didn’t want to at least try to wrangle Augustus.

A familiar woman with light red hair swanned into the room with a handsome Indian man in a dark purple suit.

Linda opened her laptop. “Forget I said that. Let’s move on.”

“Right.”

Linda indicated the redhead. “Sienna, you remember Riva?”

“Of course, how could I forget? Hi, sweetie, it’s great to see you again.” I went to shake Riva’s hand, but she pulled me into a hug instead.

“It’s lovely to see you, Sienna. I’ve missed you.”

“Aww,” I cooed. This girl was too sweet. “How are you enjoying being a part of the events team?”

Riva pulled back and squeezed my hand. “I adore it. It seems working for my mother’s party planning company for the last four years has come in handy.”

“Riva is a treasure. Event planning comes so naturally to her, and she has a way of endearing herself to everyone. She’s quite a charming thing.”

The man held his hand out to me. “Ramesh Bhat, I’m the Estate Styles’ event planner.”

“Hi, it’s awesome to meet you.” I shook his hand.

“Well, this is fantastic. I’m sure, between the four of us, we can come up with a wonderful Christmas gala, indeed.” Ramesh waved his hand at Linda, who nodded her agreement.
